I saw a rig headed North on I-4, but didn't know who it was, or where they were going.

I just got ONE of the answers!

P.S. - When will someone figure out that these practice sessions aren't helping things? The few who can afford the testing nights, are the ones who will have an advantage over the others that can't come. Think of how many guys WON'T show on Saturday because they already feel at a disadvantage.

Let me guess.... there will be somewhere around 3-4 hours MORE on Saturday, of practice sessions.

2 days of pit passes for the whole crew
At least 2, probably 3 sets of tires for the weekend
      2 tanks of racing fuel
2 round-trips with the hauler, plus all the other vehicles to get the crew there
2 days of meals & drinks for the crew
50 or 75 laps worth of engine wear, bringing it closer to re-freshen time
Wear & tear on everything else in the car
Required to be at the track VERY early for a drivers meeting? (this one is just crazy) Being at the track for over 12 hours is not uncommon. A good friend who has a SLM didn't take their car to the Clyde Hart race because the drivers meeting was at something like 2:00 in the afternoon, for a 7:30 race start. Keep in mind, this was a WORK day. Not everyone can take the whole day off to go racing.

3/4 of those expenses come into play before one single dime can be earned back... and the WINNER will still lose over $1000

This asphalt track mentality is BROKEN, and nobody tries to fix it.

      Compare this to Dirt:

NO practice day, or even extra practice sessions
      5 minutes of practice time
A single tank of fuel (actually a lot less than a full tanks worth)
Possibly a new tire or 2, but very often the used ones you already have will be even better than buying a new one
You could arrive at 6:00 on race night, and not miss a thing

Asphalt and Dirt will ALWAYS have their differences, but if you look at the health of each right now, I'd have to say that there's a few things things that could be learned, tried, and implemented by the paved tracks.

The best thing about dirt they will run 2, 3, or even 4 heat races an A main a B main and maybe even a C if they have to and still get you home at a decent time. Thats for every class they run, one of the best things they do is NO WARMUP LAPS come out of the pits and you had better be where you belong cause the race starts at the flag stand if you are ready or not, this would save SOOOOOOO much time at an asphalt race.

If all the cars show up that are listed it will be a good race for sure

FYI... this is an OPEN PRACTICE that was scheduled and posted to the website two-weeks ago... It is not just a Late Model practice...

Cost of practice is and has always been $20./car and that includes 3 people... not an outrageous price by any means... considering we have Strictly Stocks, Super Stocks, Pro-Challenge Cars and Modifieds all in the pits right now along with the Late Models.

                  Just a question?

If a dirt track had open practice the night before or and/or 4 hours practice the day of the race, would it do anything to make for better dirt racing? Would a racers car be any better in the heats or feature?

I know the answer do you?
You can educate the ignorant......but you cant fix stupid
