Here's a challenge to you Rex. Halloween is coming up soon.

When your local track does their "trick or treat" night, and invites the fans to go down into the infield at intermission, to trick and treat at the various race vehicles, do down to the infield yourself and WATCH......

Watch which classes the kids and their parents gather around (the ones that aren't related to a particular driver), once they have collected their candy.... It's NOT the Mini Stocks, the Street Stocks, or any of the other "junker" classes (sorry, but that's what every casual fan I know calls them....)

It's the Sprints, MiniCups, the Bandaleros, and DEFINITELY the champ karts!!

I've seen it happen again, and again.

NOONE (that I know) is saying that tracks should schedule MiniCups, Bandaleros or Champ Karts on a weekly basis. And, car racing will ALWAYS be the main reason fans come to a stock car track.

However... these smaller divisions are NOT to blame for the empty stands at race tracks across Florida. The boring and repetitive programs, too many junker classes, lack of sound promotion, and the insane pit pass and ticket prices have driven most race fans away.

The Halloween racing program near you.... take my challenge Rex. Stand back and watch which classes the kids and their parents congregate around, after they've made their rounds to get candy.

Nah, Boneman started the thread. He's one of the chosen ones. You know, like OSF.
BTW, just kidding for the overly sensitive.

Racefan99 your joking right? Kids and parents go to cars with things to give away. nothing to do what class.most everyone I know think karts, bando's and minicups are junker classes nobody wants to watch them.I like the sprints on dirt but the last sprint car race I seen at nss had a poor car count and only 2 or 3 were even fast. wasn't worth watching.the ones I can remember at osw had good car counts but seems half of them just start and park(junk cars maybe) anyways everyone has there there fav. Classes.you have yours and I have mine.I like what you call junker classes.so far they have put on the best shows this year.atleast at my tracks.

Like I wrote above... "Stand back and watch which classes the kids and their parents congregate around, after they've made their rounds to get candy."

Yes, all the kids will always go to the vehicles first that have the "best" candy. But watch which vehicles the kids and parents go back to AFTER they have made their rounds. Remember... ignore the relatives or people wearing their favorite drivers shirts... Those people are typically friends and/or relatives, and are NOT casual race fans... they have a reason to attend, regardless of how good or poor the race program is.

A little sensitive today huh? Ibuprofen will help those menstrual cramps. Ease up and have a sense of humor, I don't think Rex meant anything by it.
