    At Jackie Robinson Ball Park--
And Haudfan would be proud, I think.
Wed. Night baseball game in Daytona Beach with the K-9 following.....and all dogs allowed into the Arena/Ballpark. Jacqueline and I made the way into the ballpark, as it was a big " dog night" at the ol' ballgame.
Complete with two Siberian Huskeys in tow, a good night it was. Lots of furry dog's, and their handlers were there, we made our way to the boarded Budweiser Deck, and that is where we saw a great game for the Single A Teams.
Lots of fans around, and lots of dogs, too. We both met alot of folks, and were glad to be there. Too many folks gravitated to our ol' blue eyed, winter-wizard type pooches, and we were more than happy to tell them the stories, and also that were there from the others that were dog owners themselves.
(and yes, we bagged up the poop ourselves, except for one guy, I cleaned up his dogs #2 droppings, that dickhead owner).
There was another thread awhile back about Minor League Baseball being really good about bringing in the crowd, and I couldn't agree more. It was a fun night for all, you bet, and it seems that local short tracks could do the same.
There was however, a New Smyrna Speedway promotional spot, and a race car on Sunday Night, to promote the Speedway, and that was pretty cool.
Local short track racing and minor-league baseball, all to bring a crowd in.

There is no doubt that race track promoters could learn a lot from most minor league ball parks . Big crowds , spend lots of money on food , constant inter active games and promotions between innings , overall a very entertaining show no matter how the game itself turns out . We don't have any race track participation at all in our ball park , even though theres a track 15 miles away . Some of these race promotors and ad salesmen need to get their feet off the desk and go sell racing .
On the subject of race cars appearing at events , i've never seen it fail to get attention . I've always wondered why the most obvious sales pitch for racing isn't used . Every HS sports event should have a couple of very nicely painted and lettered race cars on hand , different race cars each event . Why isn't there a Super Late idling aroung the warning track at HS baseball games during intermission ? Why aren't there OWMs in the parking lot of basketball games revving the engines as people go into the game ?
