if you're interested in seeing the track go, be there tomorrow night. word is some of the old farts might try to fight this. the good thing is, the Fellsmere Council approached IH Racing so they're already on our side.

the City Council building is two blocks west of where 507/Babcock intersects 512, right behind the old school building. it's on the SE corner of 512 / Pennsylvania Ave and Cypress.

Chris verified that the current plan IS to put the circle track on the same property as Mesa Park but that there isn't enough land to put the drag strip in there. so they're still looking for a site for the strip.

i wouldn't hold them to anything at this point. the old Mesa Park property currently has three different owners and IH Racing hasn't even contacted the holder of the easternmost property yet. although it looks like the commercial renters have vacated.

please don't bring up any concerns you have about the track size or design in the council meeting. that's an issue to be taken up with Chris and the IH Racing management in private. for the City Council meeting, you just want to show up and voice your support for the idea of having a local facility.

baby steps, baby steps, baby steps.

they've got permission to run the mud bog through the end of the year, we'll see where they go from there and what kind of roadblocks Fellsmere winds up trying to throw in the way.

overall it was promising but there will have to be some handholding to keep everybody happy.
