I can't say exactly when, I seem to remember it being 1996, but the WKA ran some asphalt winter nationals in the Ocean Center in conjunction with their dirt nationals at the municipal stadium. it was a great idea in theory, indoor kart racing in daytona during the other nationals at municipal stadium, and the big track, but I remember hearing that they had to pour coca-cola syrup on the track in order to provide enough traction for the asphalt karts to race, and hence it was the only year they tried that experiment. I could very well be wrong as i wasn't even 10 years old at the time, but does anyone else remember this trial event?

You would think that Karts would have a big show every year during Speedweeks . Sure shouldn't be hard to draw a crowd with all the people who show up there . Coke on the floor is what USAC midgets use for their in door shows i believe . Sounds crazy , but works pretty well i hear .
