Lightbulb I have an idea...
somehow we seem to have problems communicating on these boards. we call each other names, disrespect the elderly, argue about anything we come up with.
BUT... there is one thing i think we all agree on and i doubt we would have one single bad post. perhaps our posts on this subject might even bring us closer together and make us realize how lucky we really are...
every day that i read a column in the paper about America losing a soldier i cry... im serious. i literally sob ... it hurts so bad to know that this person i dont even know died fighting for me and my family. i cry because i know their parents, wives and children are in agony knowing they will no longer be able to hold that person, hear their voice, or share in their lives. i cant even imagine that kind of pain, even tho i did lose my beloved husband in a horrid accident. so i can relate to how they feel when the military come to their front door with a flag in their hands...
today there were 3... and there are others who were simply mountain climbing and lost their way. unfortunately they landed on enemy territory. they are in prison and only God knows what has or will happen to them.
i would like to dedicate a section of Karnac to all of our soldiers, past and present. a place where we can take the time to pray for them, to talk about them, to share in other peoples pain and help them by letting them know we appreciate what their loved one gave up for us. if you think this isnt race related then you are behind the 8 ball... many many of our racing fans, drivers and owners have had or now have people they love in our military... not only that... we would not have the freedom to go racing, to speak freely, or to carry a weapon to protect our loved ones...
so with all that said i will ask Jack to give us a "LOVE OUR SOLDIERS" section... please post about people you know who are in the military, things you hear about, people in our own racing families who are serving, their needs.. perhaps we can make sure in a group effort those needs are met... theres so much we can do and to me that will make RACING people the cream of the crop in AMERICAN society.
