I was told about new happings at old Sunshine being up again soon,want something like taxs and pay off with toll booth testing was not cutting it now,so there looking at letting it run races to make more off the place?

My damn t-shirts I ordered....I really thought SSS would be up and running by now... I bought enough shirts for my entire family in addition to a few friends.

Answer to this is.
1. Is there money to open the track?
2. Does the CITY want the track?
3. Has it been closed to long to matter if it opens?
If you get (2) yes and (1) no then you have a definite MAYBE.

Check out the latest Google Earth shot of the speedway, it looks great. Freshly painted lines all around the track. Looks like the state installed some buildings in the infield, a toll booth. The grandstands and infield lights are all gone. Looks like they have done some paving and expanded the pit area.

Wishfull thinking . I would have to count myself as one wishing the track could come back , but it isn't going to . The DOT owns it , they are using it for toll booth testing temporarily ( thats why the paving and striping have been upgraded ) and when they build the new roadway through what is now the dragstrip , Sunshine Speedway is going to be a retention pond . Sad but true .

I go by USA alot and that track also still stands as far as the paved track goes. Of course all lights and stands are gone. But the owners have done NOTHING with the land. In fact I have heard rumors that the land tested unfit for what they were thinking of. This is another track I'd like to see restarted. And this time race every Saturday night of the season. Not just here and there.
