The interesting thing about those adds is how good those cars still look 40 or 50 years later . Sure won't be able to say that about most designs today . The 63 Stingray and the 62 Jaguar XKE were two of the best looking cars ever .
Cars of the '50s, '60s and the '70s (for the most part) had real personality... You actually looked forward to each new model year to see what the new cars would look like... Nowadays you can't tell the difference between a BMW, Honda, Ford, Toyota etc. unless you look at the emblem plate... They all look the same and are painted with such bland colors... At least I can go out to Old Town every so often and get my "fix" of real cars...

For the most part, I agree. However, the new Challenger and Camaro look really sharp IMHO. Going back a bit further, the mid-90's Impala SS was another good-looking design.

The new Camaro and Challenger are copies of the original cars of the '60's.
They have very small changes and a lot more plastic, but from a distance it's hard to tell them apart. The Camaro has a SBC with close to 500hp and better MPG than the '60's version. The Mustang went back to the original look of 40 years ago and had a big boost in sales. Thats probably why Mopar and GM revised their new models.
At least when you see them coming or going, you know what it is.....and it ain't Jap.

Not sure if I would go quite that far, but they clearly have a lot in common with the earlier versions. Since I like old cars, I guess that's why I especially like these two.
Front of new Camaro. Has more simularities than previous years. A little tighter grill than the first version of 42 years ago. They go for about $32,000 now though. My first in '67 was less than $2000 with a 3 speed stick and A/C.
The 327 with 375 HP was the best part though. Got drafted and had to let it go back. Sure miss it too......

Well if GM wants to sell me, or 95% of the country a new Camaro... They need to find a way to get way under $32,000... No wonder these companies are going bankrupt...
