  • Hendry County Last Night!

Well, grand opening has been here and gone and I think it was so cool that so many cars and fans showed up to support Ken and his efforts to give us "dirt fans" another chance at once again having that place open. In his first night as owner, he saw the place at capacity both in the grandstands and the pits. He now knows all the "bugs" he needs to work on, and I feel confident that he already has some changes in the works and the place will continue to improve. I think all in all it was a good night considering it was the first night. I saw and talked with people I hadn't seen since the THUNDERCROSS days and there is an excitement building about this "NEW-old" track being open again. I hope people continue to support the track and appreciate what is being done there! The place looks better that it EVER has and Ken says this is only the beginning. On another thread someone gave the place a "B" grade and I thought that was very fair. So happy to see nothing negative on here yet!!!!!!

    Hey Front Stretch

Glad to have met you recently at Ocala and also glad to hear you have a track again to enjoy.
Sounds like everything was great for an opening... good crowd and good track, what else could one want.

Hope to get down there one day and see for myself (however the pictures that Linda posted sure looked good)

Again, enjoy your track and keep us posted.

Thanks for the reply! It was also very nice meeting you. As you can tell, I am VERY excited about HCMP being open again and welcome you down anytime. Things did go well last night considering but it will get better. Taking into account that the surface is new to everybody, the racing was good too. I know of quite a few others that are currently almost finished with new cars so maybe the car counts will stay good. Wish I could comment on the food but so many people there that I never attempted to go get in line. I met Frasson last night and he is also a very nice person. Anyway. come on down and visit us!

        Must Have Been Another Frasson

Cause the one we all know up here is an Ass. He thinks he knows everything about racing... goes to more tracks than anyone you could ever know, knows how to tail gate real good and a bunch of other worthless traits.

The one thing I never thought of is TWO FRASSON's..... I hope you can control that one, cause we sure as hell can't control this one. Can you believe it... this FRASSON actually pissed off a mild mannered hippy and got his silly ass banned from this site...he must have really committed a biggie to get that reward. Not too many people have got under the skin of the hippy, but FRASSON sure did. But he's still around, word is that he can be found over on the other channel.

OSF: Got to go... heard the nurse coming down the hall doing her last rounds for the evening..(She always keeps me for last so we don't have to rush - if you get my drift).

Jerry has not been banned since the Scott Thompson Memorial at Volusia. He can post whenever he wants to but like he told me, he will if and when he ever feels like it. But Jerry and I are friends and have been friends now for many years and he knows I love him. I hope he had a wonderful time at Hendry County on Saturday and hope to see him soon at Volusia.

Oh yea, it was great seeing James Powell behind the wheel of a racecar Saturday night at Volusia. He was in the number 58 and it was really, really great seeing him again racing. James is one of the nicest drivers around and I hope we see alot more of him in the future. Seems he does very well on dirt although I knew him mainly on asphalt.

Also heard Pete Willoughby was at Orlando SpeedWorld Friday night. Haven't seen Pete for too long, not since Barry moved to Seattle. Also, unless A ndy has sold it, Andy was at Orlando in Barry's old modified. Sorry I missed that one.

Also saw the #99 Super Stock, Brent Tyler, at Volusia Saturday with the winning Thunder Stock driver. Last time I saw Brent, he had planned on driving the #57 Thunder Stock soon and try his luck on dirt. But nice to see him also.

            Good News About Jerry

"Jerry has not been banned since the Scott Thompson Memorial at Volusia".

Perhaps what he was telling a bunch of us at Ocala was BEFORE the Scott Thompson Memorial. Gonna be good to have that know-it-all back on the board (keeps me from having to read up on racin news). The man should have his own radio show regarding racing. You can fool alot of people buy you sure can't fool that fool. (LOL JERRY).

Jane, I think I introduced you and Jerry a bunch of years ago (just like I did at Lakeland with CW). I love to introduce KARNACIANS to each other...and it helps me with my therapy (I've been murder free now for 3 years, 2 months, 1 week, 4 days and 18 hours - PLEASE EVERYONE - DON'T MESS ME UP!)

HEY JERRY, are you ready to post yet? I will send you an application to the New and Improved - STFU Orgainization - your pal Jim is President and I am his understudy (And believe me - I don't look up to him EVER). WINGER is joining as I am sure the rest of the crew will soon be onboard.

Jerry and I met for the very first time years ago at Desoto Super Speedway when he was there with his girlfriend. Were you there also with me??? I had gone for some late model race I think but that is where Jerry and I first met.

You and I had the pleasure of watching the very last Florida Pro 200 at Columbia many years ago and I do believe that is when I first met Roger also. In the field was Bill Posey and South 40 - both have long gone from racing since then. It was cold that day and the race was on a Sunday during the day. You gave Mr. Alex a bunch of change and he was just alittle fella then - he is almost 17 now. Back then Ms. Carol was also around and we all use to have such a good time together no matter where we were or how often we did and did not see each other. I really do miss those days alot.

Remember at the Governor's Cup one year when you all were there for practice and Ms. Carol brought Alex a remote control car for his birthday. He played and played with it on the grandstand side the night before the race. We had such a great time together.

But Jerry, who is also a very dear friend, can post anytime he wants to and yes the Scott Thompson was after the Powell Memorial at Ocala. He knows this and I respect his decision to do it when and if he wants to. He knows it was not me who banned him and he knows that Jack has always liked him. But it seems right now if you sneeze wrong, someone gets their feelings hurt and complains. Too bad racing has gotten this way, it sure was more fun in the older days.

Anyway sweetie, I hope you come see me one of these Saturdays at Volusia. I would really love to see you again. I miss my big old teddy bear and the friendship.

              Take care my friend.

              Love ya,
              Jane

                Yea Yea Yea

And I bet you remember all that GREAT Hot Choclate in the Homeless Shelter at Citrus...cold as "Heck", those WERE the days.

Gonna come over to your new digs on day... always like the racing there... they sure know how to get it done...won't park down there with Jerry and them, with my IRISH luck, either a car or giant dirt clog would be sitting on my dash board. Hey, and the food is excellent there as well (someone told me). Ice Cream in the corner (someone else told me about that).

                Gotta Go..

Jane , Where are you hiding at on Saturday nights? I look for you every time I come to Volusia. The last few times I have gone the owners of the 57 have been extremely nice to me and offered to let me drive the car in warm ups. I do still plan to try my luck on dirt all next season in a sportsman car if everything works out right. Next time I go I will defiantly try to find you.

                        I Told That Clown..........

To git rid of that picture.

Speaking about that Dave, I think the last time I saw you was at an "ALL U CAN EAT" joint in Orlando and your DIRTY PLATES were stacked pretty high! (I only had a small salad and a small diet ice water).

Brent - I was in the tower where I write. But I did see you with the 57 in Winner's Circle. In fact, I have been watching to see if you were behind the wheel since you told me that night at Orlando that you had hoped to drive the 57 one night. Just let me know next time you are going to be there and I will come down to the pits for a few minutes. But you can always find me in the tower writing.

Just got a call from Pedie Allison and they are racing at Volusia this weekend in a Mini Stock. I am so excited. Now if I could only get Rex there with his Mini Stock.

But let me know when you are coming and I will definitely find you. And can't wait to see your Sportsman. I am sure you will like Volusia since they do have good car counts and good fan counts too. In spite of the bad weather last Saturday, they still had 82 cars there.

See ya and remember, just let me know so I can meet you.
