Just got a call from Hendry!!!!!

119 cars (6 classes) in the pits! people lined up to the road... standing room only! an amazing first night for Ken Kenney.... the person who called said the atmosphere is so exciting the staff are going crazy trying to keep up...

I went last night and what a crowd it was, the car count was also great. There were a couple "rough edges" but for being his first night with that kinda of counts it was overall a great night. There are seasoned tracks out there that would not have been able to pull that off. the place looked great, you can tell all the hard work that has gone on since just a few months ago. Ken is not done yet on the improvements, and what a way to break in a new track. Ken is going to make Hendry one heck of a place to go watch dirt racing.

I heard the crowd set a Guinness Book of World Records record for the number of mosquito bites in one place over a six hour period!!

Get a spray bottle and put Listerine in it and spray it on you. I do this just before going into the garden, it seems to help. I guess the gnats and sketters like having bad breath.

A few pictures are worth a thousand words!! It turned out just like I knew it would. Good car count, good sized crowd and a lot of good friends enjoying good ol dirt track racing!!

lindas pictures are great... so clear... have talked to alot of people and everyone were so pleased... mosquitoes cant be helped but i carry a can of Off in my purse and never have any trouble. i remember bobby diehl walking thru all of the bleachers with a can and spraying everyone...lol
Hendry County Speedway being on the fringes of Okeechobee is lucky all they get bitten by is mosquitoes...lol could be gators or boas....
im so happy Ken had such a wonderful night. he deserves it. i also heard that his wife and daughter worked their butts off. having a supportive family has to be comforting... glad you had a good time dano... ;-) CCMP had a good night too... about 1500 in the stands and decent car count... ;-)

Hey Ozzie...

I truly mean it when I say a few pictures are worth a thousand words, and memories. I fell sick as a dog about four o clock saturday afternoon and ended up in bed untill three o clock sunday a.m.

I got "bear caught" and over heated and wasted my lunch.

It really broke my heart not being able to go. I bought tickets the week before. Oh well, try again next week.
