  • Thanks to Everyone At Bronson

Sometimes we find ourselves behind the 8 ball, but that is when the real go getters get going!

The main power pole that fed to virtually every corner of Bronson Motor Speedway fell last night, taking almost everything with it. In fact, the breaker boxes that control everything from the sound, lights, and concessions, were on that pole. Beginning very early this morning, crews from Jonesville Electric and Underground began working with Tony Parker and others putting things back together again. Despite the odds being against them, the power was back on and we had an excellent night of racing at Bronson!

The power struggles got us in some other ways, like the scoreboard not working and the problems with the front stretch lights, but that was just minor stuff. Despite a late start (we had zero power in the tower until after 7:30PM) we finished up a little after midnight and saw some really great action in between. The car count was not what everyone had hoped for, but it was sufficient and the racing was exciting. We also had an enthusiastic crowd in the grandstands that stayed late to see all of the action.

Thanks to Tony and his staff, plus the extra hard work by the guys from Jonesville Electric, Bronson was ROCKIN'!!!

And congrats to Michael Stalnaker on his win in the 50 lap, $1000 to win, Norm Hamel Memorial race! Also, congrats to James Peters on his Pure Stock victory, William Edwards for his win in the Sportsman division, Wade Parker for outlasting the Hornets, and Doug Hopper for beating the Outlaw Modifieds!

It gets better next week with the School Bus Figure 8's!

    Hats Off Please

I could not believe. when I arrived Saturday afternoon, seeing a new power pole just set in place and no power to the track and only hours away from race time. BUT THEY DID IT......
Being retired from the construction trade I saw a job that takes days to complete, done in just a few hours. A tip of the hat to Tony, his crew, and all involved for a great save to our night of racin'.

BTW All the activities above did not sway Roger(AB195) and Jerry(frasson 118) from indulging in their favorite adult beverage and supervising the whole thing. Great job guys and good seeing youse again.

RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.

It was a little frustrating to have to wait so long between races, but under the circumstances, I was glad that racing even happened at all. Very close and very competitive racing. Watching four cars go around nose-to-tail and side-by-side for several laps was worth the price of admission alone. I was starting to wonder if I was at Bronson or I-4 in Orlando. Even if the car count wasn't what we may have wanted, the cars that were there were very competitive and put on excellent races. Everyone did a great job in making the show happen.

I would like to thank everyone for all there help and thank all the fans and racer for hanging in there.
