Dustin Dunn Teams up with Demarsico Custom Trim for Bike Give Away at CCMPPosted July 8th, 2009

    Devon Holder

Dustin Dunn and his family owned racing operation are looking forward to this weekend’s Florida 100 at Charlotte County Motorsports Park in Punta Gorda, Florida. One reason the team is looking forward to this race is the fact that Dunn piloted his car to a fourth place finish in the first ASA Late Model Series race of the season in March at Charlotte County. Another reason is simply the proximity of the track to home. The travel time from Dunn’s hometown of Jupiter, Florida to Punta Gorda, is roughly two hours. This pales in comparison to their last trek to Senoia, Georgia which took nearly nine hours.

Having this race close to home allowed Dustin and his race team, which is made up himself, his mom, and his dad, to test at the .375 mile racetrack a couple of weeks ago. “We had a real successful test at Charlotte County,” stated Dustin’s father, Andrew. “We were running our fastest times on one hundred lap old tires in the heat of the day.” Dunn currently sits second in the ASA Late Model Series South Division point standings entering the next to last race of the 2009 season, which makes the laps that he gained during testing extremely valuable. “I am really looking forward to racing at Charlotte County,” stated Dustin, “We should be in contention for the win there.”

Dunn is riding some momentum off of his last ASA Late Model Series race at Senoia Raceway. Dunn was third fastest in the first practice at Senoia and fastest overall in the second session. An unfortunate qualifying draw saw Dunn go out first in time trials on a track that had baked under the hot Georgia sun for over an hour. These slick track conditions cost Dunn a shot at a fast qualifying lap.

Although Dunn did not get the qualifying run he wanted, he was able to make his way up through the field, turning the second fastest lap time of the race. However, he lost his brakes around lap twenty five. “I came over the radio and told Dad to just bring me to the finish,” said Dunn after his seventh place run at Senoia. “I knew I was not going to advance any positions without any brakes, so I just wanted to finish the race.”

Dustin Dunn and his racing team are also proud to announce that Demarsico Custom Trim, one of their associate sponsors, is partnering with them at Charlotte County this weekend. “Demarsico Custom Trim is coming on board this weekend to give away two bicycles,” says Andrew Dunn. “We will have a drawing during the autograph session and Demarsico Custom Trim will give away one boys bike and one girls bike to two lucky children.”

Dustin Dunn and his racing team would like to encourage all of the children in attendance at Charlotte County to come down to the autograph session with their parents to enter the drawing. This will allow parents and children the opportunity to meet Dustin Dunn and get his autograph.

      Bobby,

You know how much we appreciate your support and friendship. You just keep doing what you are doing. I know you tried hard with Dustin to get us to stay for the last race but we already had other plans. We can't wait until the ASA season is over and we can run a few of your Saturday night shows. We will need a little help from Jason on the mic to give these bikes away. You know if you need ANYTHING from me just pick up the phone.

      See ya Saturday
      Andrew
