  • There is a 50 lap Sportsman race at NSS

There is a 50 lap Sportsman race this Saturday at NSS. In case anyone was wondering. I don't know what the purse is...maybe Mark or Kim can help with that.
It would be nice to get 15 -20 cars for a race. 6-8 cars for 50 laps just isn't a whole lot of fun. There have been 22 sportsman race at NSS this year. If they all show up one more time it will be a good field. Maybe some of the OSW guys will show also.

it would be nice if there was an open practice for the sportsman and super stocks before the dual 50 lappers . but they only seem to do that for super lates . and the payoff ? dont get excited boys , the other tracks pay more for a normal nite than fascar pays for a 50 lapper . last one was $400 for first and dolly parton dropoff after that . there will be quite a few super stocks for sure but due to the embarrasing payoff and lack of rule enforcement many of the sportsman drivers have given up or race elsewhere . and we already know who the top three will be . the real show will be the winged sprints !

Straight up I am not sure you have been paying to much attention to the tech shed this year. The sportsman have been thoroughly teched this season. Just off the top of my head...they have checked transmissions, P&Gd the motors, measured just about everything, they even checked the width of the wheels.
The reason we know who the top 3 are everyweek is because they are the only 3 of the six cars that show up each race and they work on their cars. THe 23,111,and 25 are legal. If you don't think they are bring your money.

paying attention ? if you only knew ! if you call that tech . when the heads , rods and cranks come out then you can call it tech . as for money why waste it ? nobody there has a clue what they are looking at and even if they found something like the illegal rods found last year in the 25 , that were never checked again like the rulebook requires , the RACE DIRECTOR just overules the tech men and says let em run we need the cars .yeah ive been paying attention for quite a few years at the joke you call tech and favoritism shown to certain drivers .

The reason that local tracks don't tear down motors without someone putting up protest money is because of the cost to the drivers to put the motor back together. Don't forget that the sportsman are racing for $200. Which we are in agreement that it is a sad payout.
IF you think you are being out motored I suggest you take a stopwatch and time the cars in the corners from point A to point B. That is where the good cars are better.
It is quite funny how cars that are fast "Must be CHEATING". It is called working on your car and making it better.

IF you want to know the "element" that make our car fast...come by and see me and I will tell you what it is....and it is not a part or piece of the car.

I don't know, I think it would be called racing week in and week out with good equipment learning the track, paying your dues, making your car better and just finishing races for a couple of years. But you must be cheating.

            Hopefully see you Saturday.

I have to agree.. That little thing like seat time... Proper maintenance... Correct repairs and always being at the track is some of the things that really HELP someone do well and run well..

Yup Ed... It must be cheating... The tech has been much more level and consistent compared to years past... Not quite like it was where I used to race, but much better than in years past...

Again, we all need to be positive in things that we are doing and yes constructive criticism does work much better...

              Remember...

              GO FAST and TURN LEFT!!!!!

Hey Ed... Might we get to see you this weekend and have two appearances this year.... ROFLMAO...

                cheating

Must be a new word for busting your butt on a race car. You mean loading the car up at the race track towing it home parking it in front of the trailer ain't gonna make it faster? The one thing you always hear those superstars at nascar say (nothing like more seat time) I don't care how much money daddy has to give away it won't make up for hard work!!!!!! I don't care what you do that is the most important thing about getting good at it WORK

                  Old Facts Of Life

Put Will Cagle, or Buzzie in a 10 th place car and they win. Put them in top equiptment and they stink up the show with a runaway.

There are drivers and steering wheel holders. I was a HOLDER 99% of my active time I did not become a driver till I learned GO slow to go fast and motor is nice but if the car can not turn and use that motor you are just SOL.

Is there cheating, you bet in every car at every track. If you look at EVERY car with a trained person you can find all kinds of things HIDDEN that the owner thinks will make it faster.

The only way to win a race is to be PREPARED to win that race everything from the tire pressure to the EXACT amount of oil to get the lubrication BUT not the drag on the crankshaft. My dad had a few tricks like the scene in a movie where they add BOOZE to the oil mix to get a few RPM more out of an engine.

With only 6 cars and 3 cars win most of the shows that is a good deal since 50% of teh cars can win on any night. NOW if you had 40 cars and 50% could win then you have a show.

to get 40 cars every class would have to race at the same time
