  • Celebrating the life of Gale Storm

On June 27, 2009 a wonderful person and great actress and singer passed away and sadly with no fanfare. Starring in movies and two t.v. shows in the 50's. I can remember like it was just yesterday sitting on the floor in the living room as a young lad with my family watching "My Little Margie." She had several top record hits. Oh, I am sorry, this is a racing message board

Yup, I remember her too. Always getting into trouble and her father having to bail he out. Kinda fashioned after the I love Lucy sitcom.
Did not she was even still alive. Must have been in her 80's.

There actually is a racing slant to her career . Her co-star on the Margie tv show was the famous drag racer Tommy Ivo . He is best known for the 4 engine/4 wheel drive dragster with the Buick station wagon body on it , and for the fact that he always raced Buick powered cars . Tommys' nick name was TV Tommy Ivo and thats where the name came from .
The show was pretty good , and she was a very kind hearted person . Pretty cute too .
          There Darren , we'll play along .

Man. it's just not safe to be a famous person right now... Here's another:

Alexis Arguello, who fought in one of boxing's most classic brawls and reigned supreme at 130 pounds, was found dead at his home early Wednesday.
Coroners were conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Sandanista Party's Radio Ya and other local media were reporting it appeared to be a suicide.
The La Prensa newspaper reported that Arguello — elected mayor of Nicaragua's capital last year — was found with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The 57-year-old Arguello retired in 1995 with a record of 82-8 with 65 knockouts and was a champion in three weight divisions. He was perhaps best known for two thrilling battles with Aaron Pryor and fights with Ray Mancini, Bobby Chacon and Ruben Olivares.
