  • Why Don't Tracks Post There Payouts

I have called around to some of the tracks and asked for there payoff, some will only give you a certain class and only what it pays to win. Others say you have to come to the track to get the payouts. Well I see that Bronson has posted there payouts on there web sight, I think all tracks should.

I know I will catch hell but I look at this way and I think alot of others should too. You will have a lot more fun and a lot less frustration if you don't spend too much on your cars and crew and keep it a hobby. Who really cares about points, they don't mean anything. You will probably never make it to Nascar so it really does not matter.

Like you said....it is a hobby. If you can break even after fuel and pit passes, then you are doin' good.
I formed an LLC Corp for all the racin' stuff and it payed off as a loss on my taxes last year. Now that Nobama is in there though, it may be a waste of time. Love my racin and all the friends we make.....PRICELESS !!

If anyone out ther built a race car with the hopes of making money they live in a fantasy world. I built my drag car for fun and something the whole family could do and it worked we loved it. Try it sometime. By the way how much do boats, 4 wheelers, dirt bikes and any other hobby pay to win?

You guys are right , racing , at least short track racing should be all about having a good time . I really think thats what motivates drag racers . They do spend a lot on their cars , but they don't go to the dragstrip with the idea of winning over everything else . Some do of course , but most are just there to compete .
I had a conversation with a guy once who questioned why there was such a thing as a points payout . His reasoning was why not take any money thats supposed to go to the points fund , and instead use it to increase the weekly payout from 5th thru last . He felt the guy who won the points title didn't need the points money , the guys who finished 7th or 10th on back in the points were the ones who could use the money . Take the $40 thousand ( just an educated guess ) or so that some tracks have for the points fund and either distribute it more heavily toward the bottom of the points list , or do away with the points entirely and hand out far more money per race .

racing is not a hobby to a real racer . its a way of life . and they put on a show for the track and fans and should be paid well for it . talk to a real racer like david rogers or wayne anderson . not todays wanna - be racers with their $500 strictly stock ! that class is a hobby since its a trophy class . fascar doesnt post its payoffs because its embarassing . those of you who think everythings ok are part of the problem , not the solution .

Old news, its an age old debate. Racers have been bitching and moaning since the beginning of time, so much so to the point where most track owners probably don't want to hear it or won't listen. I might be part of the problem but I am going to still support the tracks right or wrong because I love racing for the sake of racing and not money. I might be a wanna be but at least I still enjoy racing.

you use to be able to make some money racing

if you race three different race tracks in three week with two cars
and each race track uses different type of tires

figure it out if you only bought two sets of tires and did not bust any of them

and you bought 15 gallon of fuel x two cars . paid entry fee =pit fee two toters say 300 miles round trip if you won both features you would still be in hole i stayed home and worked last three weeks and saved at least 5000.00 don't believe that do you sure racing is a hobby

but don'tyou think it at least should be able to go to a race track and have a set of rules were you don't have to have a shop full of tires for each track you race at

i can afford to race at any track i want to with what ever type of car we choose to race what i'm saying is sure racing is suppose to be fun

but take a super late model take the money it takes to buy or own one then look at the purse it.'s a joke how about an open wheel modified you think they are cheap or parts are cheap or you don't have to work on them think again i know some of open wheel drivers that have paid yes six thousand dollars for set of used shocks thats just one item i don't want to get started

you can spend what ever you want it's your money
