First and for most I owe a huge thank you to the track rescue team. They really knew what they were doing. My hat is off to you guys.
And thank you to everyone else for all of the phone calls and concerns. It is very much appreciated. To answer everyone’s questions, I have a broken L1 vertebra in my back and also a very bruised sternum. The doctors are telling me I need to rest for 4-6 weeks and that my back should heal without any long-term effects.
I also owe a huge thanks my crew Dick and Shirley Jordan, Tony Elrod, Ink, car owner Duane, Brian and Cheryl, Christy; and Ronnie Skipper, Craig Cazzone and Raymond Lovelady.
I would encourage anyone that does not wear a head and neck restraint system to do so. I was wearing a Hans Device when I crashed and I have no neck or shoulder pain from the seat belts which I contribute to the Hans Device.
Again thanks for your concerns. I will be back at the track soon and racing again as soon as I can.
