            was rained out but...

drove from port charlotte all the way up there and the Cecil Williams race was rained out but to this day it was a day i will never forget... like going back in time to easier and prettier days.
yes, we went "in town" for some lunch... there were 2 older men on the porch of the restaurant. stopped to say hi and they had been racers many years ago. so friendly! and it seemed like they LOVED talking to strangers about the "good ole days"...lol
i havent been back since sandy and don bought it but i talk to sandy and i told her if i owned that place i would live there. i even told her where and believe it or not, she felt the same way.
i really hope our racers will make it a point to support racing up there. they cant pay out if they cant take in...i can be a pain in the a$$ but my heart has been in this sport for many many years.i wish i was younger so i could do more...now its up to the young ones...i just pray things get better.
glad you had such a good time Ron... also glad you shared the enjoyment so maybe more people will go up there and check it out.
            SEEEEEE ya...

                  Sorry Carol, but

if you want to meet the Nickel and Dime Racing crew, you’ll have to drive a little further north. We no longer race at Columbia. Our home track is South Georgia Motorsports Park, a track where they thank you for coming and enforce the rule book equally on every car regardless of the driver’s name. It’s an extra 80 miles each way but well worth it. So enjoy your trip to CMP, but I won’t be there. Have a nice day.
