Neat Old Race Car

This car was always one of my favorites... A 1955 Pontiac Late Model owned by Leon Sheffield from Ft. Pierce... Loved the root beer & white paint scheme and what a great lettering job (no vinyl graphics on this car)... This photo was taken in 1965 when the car was new... Ran the 65-67 seasons and was driven mostly by Billy Taylor but Jim McGuirk, John Whigham and Dick Crowe also took a stint behind the wheel... Remember when cars had "personality"..

This car was parked in a carport just down the street from my house I drove down that street just to see it. I couldn't wait for saturday night to see it race and it looked just as good as the picture. Sure do miss those days.
