  • voice of nss ? what happened ?

so , what happened to mark , the voice of nss ? did they run off another one ?

  • #2
The clear story, so as to squelch the rumors !

Mark turned in his resignation, it was his choice. As far as for the reasons those are his personal ones so you would have to ask him. No one ran him off as you put it and no one is angry or mad it is just what happened.
Marks voice at NSS will be missed I am sure.

    Thanks

So who is the new announcer gonna be? Mark was really good, hate to see him go. Tough to beat Roland though.

        That sucks!

Mark did an amazing job and was sooooo much better than Roland.

No way, Roland was the best............................ Kind of like fingernails on a chalk board. I still cringe every time I hear that name.

Mark was a real asset to the track, and surely helped the show. The fans felt welcomed, entertained and were well informed. I certainly hope that he will stay involved in our sport somehow, and do so here in FLORIDA.

Hopefully they will have Dave come over on Saturday nights, he is as good as it gets. Mark did do a good job. He brought a little energy to NSS.

                10-4 On AnncrDave

Dave is the tops when it comes to knowledge of drivers and races...

HELL, that guy has been around doing announcing since I was a kid. (I remember when me Dad took me to my first race, I was about 5 y/old, Dave was in the booth and knew everything and everybody).

He seemed alot taller then (about 6'6") but I think he must have melted down to the shape he is now.

Too bad it wasn't a freight train.

In defense of Roland Via, he's not a trained announcer... OK... but he is quite familiar with the history of racing particularly in the Daytona area.. his www.legendsofnascar site is very good...

He might be familiar with history but we wasnt familiar with modern day Fascar. I understand not being trained but at least take the time to know a little bit about each class and your every week drivers.

Dave never worked on the new website, only I did for Orlando when I worked there and Mark. Dave did put pictures up on the old website that FASCAR had a few years back but I did all the updating on all the websites back then - Orlando, New Smyrna, Columbia and the tours.

The new website is somewhat different than the old one and Mark has been taking care of both sites - Orlando and New Smyrna - since March of this year. It takes alot of time to take care of any site and Mark did a good job of maintaining FASCAR's.
