I took a car to Speedworld last night, and found myself in the unusual position of being "on the trailer" at 6:00. My hydraulic clutch master cylinder was not working and I could not locate one in the vicinity of the track. So I threw the "Hail Mary" pass and called KARNAC's own Duane, the "Flraceguy". He works part-time at Taylor Racing in Edgewater. When I explained the problem, Duane and Mike, another Taylor employee, drove the 45+ minutes to the track to deliver a new master cylinder. THEN they went to work and installed it too!
There is no part on my car that is less accessable than the clutch cylinder. Mike hung upside-down in the driver's seat for at least 45 minutes to get under the dash and plumb the cylinder in. I'd like to remind you that it was sunny and at least 90 degrees at the time.
Anyway, Mike and Duane worked until it was done and I could race. I was darn impressed!
I paid them for the gas and for their work, and it looks like everyone is satisfied. Racers in this area are fortunate to have several excellent race shops to support us. This was my introduction to Taylor Racing, and I could not have been more pleased. Thanks for saving my night.
