theres a treaded tire test taking place at new smyrna today , how many times they gonna change the tire rules this year ?

I hope someone posts the results . Obviously slicks are faster , thats a given . But i'd be interested to see how long each tire lasts . Wonder whos doing the testing .

If its the goodyear tire I hope they are testing you will get long use. In 16 races with a 26 car avg per race teams only bought 7 tires per team for the year. BIG SAVINGS to the driver. They are hard and yes they are slower but it equals out field. Great move if this is the tire and they go with it.

they are still the same hoosiers . was reffering to the fact that they cant seem to stick to any rules for very long . and if you learn how to set your car up correctly the hoosiers last just as long as the good/years . treaded tires belong on dirt not asphalt ! lol !

WHAT? you are the first that I have heard that one from. Lets see, same car, same driver, same track, same set up. We went from 5+ races to 2 MAX.

got question for you how did you know about tire test

what kind of tires were they testing what kind of car were they using .

did you get atime on them were they faster . did they use a taller gear for test or lower gear .

were they renting the track for the test for a secret track some were else or in another state like indiana that maybee trying to get a tire that will last longer work better .

i'm not taking up for any one but i sure would like to take my two cars to different race tracks and be able to run one type of tire

if i go to charlotte county i have to run good years - were suppose to be able to run american racers or good years

now if i go to auburn dale can run american racers and ain't sure but maybee good year also don't quote me if i go to other two tracks got run hoosier

it's kinda hard to dial your car in having to change tires so much even with right set up spring and shock package the tires grow so much it's really hard to keep your stagger right some grow as much as two inches in 50 lap race

if start out tight it gets loose if you start out loose it gets tight

Hey Ron, didn't you state a few days ago that we should all just stay at our own tracks?

I'll take you up on the cold one. Dynamite is illegal almost anywhere you go, especially for fishing.

I also heard there was a tire test at NSS and I think they were testing treaded. I would hope the reason they were testing the treaded tires was to save the racers money which I can believe was the reason. You get 3 to 4 times the life out of a treaded then a slick and they stay fast right to the end unlike a slick that goes away. If you could get as many laps out of a slick then a treaded I would vote to stay with the slick but you can't and that just a fact.
