Terry Norvelle, a local sports talk show host on 105.3 FM made an interesting point last week. He said in most sports, football, basketball, baseball, etc, you have to make it on ability no matter what your name is. You made be the son of a great quarterback, but if you don't have the ability, you're not hanging around. Then you have NASCAR in which ones that make it to the Sprint Cup Series may not be one of the 43 best in the world, but because of name or what money they can bring get a ride and keep getting recycled. It drives me crazy when the idiot announcers say, "we have the best 43 drivers in the world in the field today." No, you have a few great drivers, a lot of good drivers, and a bunch of Michael Waltrips, who if not for their last name would have been gone a long time ago.
