  • Not race related but worth hearing about...

the gas companies are the biggest thieves on this planet!!! we have a BP card... i ALWAYS send them twice the amount due... our bill is approximately $1500 a month plus!. it goes to my shop address and then courier brings it to me. i went thru the bills and noticed that they charged me $358 dollars penalty for last month because it was 2 days late. they also charged me interest and a $5 charge for sending the damn thing! it was postmarked in time and i had called them to tell them it was on the way. they never mentioned anything but said thank you.
i called today to tell them i thought they were thieves and that this months bill is due tomorrow. i dont want another $300-400 penalty so can i take it to a BP station.... nope. ya cant. but this girl told me they can take it right out of our bank account. that was GREAT! so i did that. if i had known, i would have done that last month. now they are going to fax me the bill in case it gets held up in transit. also you have to make sure they know the withdrawal is a one time deal or they will take it every month. being on a strict budget you have to pay attention to every dollar.
so why am i sharing this with you? because i dont want any of you to have to pay over $300 penalty for being a day late in paying your BP bill. it costs $10 to have it taken from your account but better than hundreds... the mafia used to go to prison for high interest and penalty charges. rofllllll
i am having the bill faxed to me the day they come out. that way i wont have to worry about it getting lost in the mail.
if this post helps one person its worth it. thanks...

Thats the main reason I dropped BP Carol. They are theifs. They used to rake me over the coals. I had a BP card for years but I tore it up and opened a Bank Of America card for my fuel. That works better for me cause I can go to any station. In thinking though I don't think you would want to give an employee a Visa. LOL! THe only employee I have is my wifee and I gootas pay her bills anyway, or does she pay mine.. UMMMM... Bob...

      im changing too...

i am going to find another way. we have about 5 trucks and they all get gas at the same time and bobby pays with one company credit card. and the BP station is right there near the shop... im thinking about hess... heard it was better and gas is cheaper. its also close.... as for our guys. they have been with us for years and i would trust them with my life savings...
thanks... wish i had known all this sooner. stinking oil companies are the only ones making billions of dollars profit and now i know why~ they suck.

        Carol

Check into getting your own tank at the shop gas would be cheaper you would pay a bulk rate and just pay the distributor and not pay interest.

Just contact any fuel supplier I am sure you have some in your area groves and most businesses that use lots of fuel most all have their own tanks on property. They should be in the yellow pages.

              cheap costing fuel--

Carol, sorry to hear about the problem with fuel. It sounds as though you have a fleet of trucks on your hand; me too. And fueling them has always been a constant problem. We have looked into an on-site tank, and have one ready to go at our shop. Some areas have strict regulations an a huge fuel cell. and the EPA needs to get involved sometimes. Code restrictions also.
You just can't open up a filling station in the middle of a residential neighborhood, and stuff like that, some restrictions. The tanks need to be double-lined, double-contained, so on and so-forth.

However, in my situation, BP Worldwide Fuel charging policies isn't the only problem. It's employee theft, which has happened oh-so-many times. Time and again, the employees have stolen fuel over and over behind my back. All the trenchers, Bobcats and machinery emptied late at night, all the 5 gallon containers filled up and ready to go for the next day have been emptied by the next morning. I have been stolen from big-time.

Trusting fella' I am, I have been stolen from more than I want to know.
And a huge tank on site at the shop would be more of a loss, I fear.
All involved have since been fired, but a huge tank would only bring more problems.
And here is another thing: you pay to have that big ol' tank filled up at such-and-such price, and the price of fuel drops a bunch, and you're still filling up the fleet on over priced fuel. So, timing should be right for this type of venture.

There are other ways to fuel a fleet, and call me if I can be of any help. I'll help you if I can.
              r.

                thank you...

most of our crew are family and the rest like family. they have been with us for years and bobby goes to the station with them. it isnt a problem with employee theft. its a problem with BP "theft"....
i was trying to support gas that didnt come from the mid east. i think we will change to Hess. just have to fill out an application for the credit card. i dont think we have room for a tank but we are in an industrial park. i didnt mind if they felt a need to give me a small penalty for being a day late but over $300 is rediculous! i have never in 12 years been late and we have used thousands of dollars worth of fuel.
this country is in a real mess. we are going thru a recession so instead of our government helping us they are charging more so they dont lose anything. oh well....
but i do thank you for trying to help......
