  • Bronson ROCKS!!!

Last night was my first night as the new track announcer at Bronson Motor Speedway, and I am happy to announce that I was pleasantly surprised at how much action I saw! That little asphalt bull ring produced as much action as any dirt track, and that was especially true as Jeff and Michael Stalnaker went lap after lap side by side in a battle for the lead in the street stock feature. It would have been a photo finish had Michael not broken on the final lap.

If you haven't been to Bronson lately, then you haven't been to Bronson! That little track has definitely got it going on! Oh! And they've got a massive mud pit as well that operates every Saturday before racing. So far NO ONE has made it from end to end!

Thanks to the racers, fans, and staff, at Bronson for an awesome night! I can't wait to do it again next week!

    My Two Cents

You rocked last night as the new announcer BJ. Play by play and lap by lap coverage of the race was a welcome change. Your voice is clear easy to listen to and brings a great addition to the night at Bronson.
Great to have you and Cindy there, even though she forgot her 'whipped creme'.(private joke) See you at the Powell Memorial at Ocala this Friday and again at Bronson Saturday.......

RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.

Thanks Jim. We have a kink or two to work out, but I'll be heading out later today to pick up some new equipment to fix that (I hope). I heard nothing but complements afterward so I must have done something right...LOL! Then again, maybe they all gave the complaints to the manager and I haven't gotten the memo yet.

B.J., You were awsome! I also believe Bronson has really has it going on. Great racing, owner and track officals are friendly. Tony Parker and his crew really make the racers feel welcomed. I also have been told that Bronson is in the process of writing rules for a limited late model class. I believe this will be a great addition.

Looks like Bronson is on its way to being the premier asphalt track in Florida . Seems to have what it takes , an owner who listens , a staff who cares , and a track where the racers and the fans feel welcome . And having BJ Cavin on the mic can't hurt either . Its nice to hear about a track thats growing .

Oh man, I really wanted to get to Bronson this week, but it took longer than I hoped to put a new front wheel bearing in my wife's car and it got too late to go. I agree that this is a fun track. BJ, I'm really glad that you're announcing now. I sometimes had a hard time understanding the previous announcer and you're always very good at Ocala (where I hope to be this Friday!).

Would love to make it back to Bronson for some type of sprint car show!

I'm not sure that Tony Parker reads this forum , or any racing forum . But i sure hope he does because he might be willing and able to try out some of the ideas we keep bouncing around on this board .
1 - A class for imports . Not the usual mini stock classes , but front drive , injected , computerized cars . Hes next door to Gainesville ,so shouldn't be hard to get racers and fans for that type of racing .
2 - A run what you brung type of Late Model and Modified classes ( 4 barrel , 366 cubic inch , 12 or 14 inch wide tires , and SK type mods ) as descibed in some earlier posts by some smart people .
                3 - Open tire rules
3 - The best payout idea i've seen in a long time , also described in a recent post .

We need someone to run with some of these ideas , and Tony at Bronson just might be the one to make these ideas a reality .

I'll toss that one at the boss and see what he says. Sounds like an idea to me!

Thanks everyone for the complements. I'm very pleased to be at Bronson and I hope to help Bronson get better and better. Working there is sort of a family reunion for me, as a lot of the displaced asphalt racers from Ocala landed over there.

As for you guys that will be in town for the Powell Memorial at Ocala on Friday, hang around and shoot up 326 to 27 and on up to Bronson on Saturday. You can watch the trucks take on that 300 foot long mud pit all day, then see some awesome racing that night!
