  • Bronson Motor Speedway--

All rained out this weekend, but what if.....what if..... Bronson Motor Speedway actually is opened for tomorrow night for those wanting racing action on a 3/8 mile high-banked asphalt oval?
    The wagering is on, yessirree.
Can Bronson Motor Speedway hit the Tri-fecta?

--the only opened Raceway down here operating this weekend--
--all the local racers and cars showing up because--
    --packed grandstands because--

Trifecta all the way, unless they call it, which in turn would make this thread totally useless.

    Hey Roger

Bronson is a 1/3 mile track. I been racin' there this year but now I'm driving my back up car. The good car blew a motor and got wrecked 3 weeks ago.

I hope for the tracks sake that they can open tomorrow, but I can't make it. The back up car has problems and I don't have it fixed yet.
Tony could use a big crowd and lots of cars tomorrow and I wish him luck.
Hope the weather cooperates for him....

Mr. Higgenbothem, you are correct sir---- a 1/3 miler it is.
And high banked facility it is, for Florida standards.
Sorry to read about the down times for your two(2) racers.

Are you a betting man? Do you think that Bronson can pull it off?

I will make the journey at 4 o'clock tomorrow, with a pot of coffee in hand, and if it comes through, I will surely be impressed. But, I am going to show for sure, and if I can help Boneman get loaded up and going, I sure will.

Since virtually everything else is already out of the question, why not go? If it rains then so be it, but I'm hoping that Bronson manages to get in some decent racing. I'll be there, proving once again that even after going dirt, one can return to asphalt!

I will be totally surprised if any track runs tonight. No one has less than 70% chance of rain. Don't know about anyplace else, but Merritt Island is dark, raining, and thundering right now. But if Bronson, Columbia, New Smyrna, Charlotte or Desoto run, I wish them good luck. But with that kind of forecast and gas prices going up, don't have that kind of extra money to throw away only to be told go right back home. But I do wish them good luck tonight.

Looking at the radar at noon, most of the nastiness seems to be confined to the eastern portions of the state and moving almost due north. The western side looks pretty good except for one nasty flare up just east of Cedar Key and some spotty crap down around Tampa, and thqt is heading northward as well. So far it looks bad for NSS and good for BMS, but that could change.

I just heard via the phone that Bronson is rained out. Nothing on the net, however.

Billy just called me. His brother Tommy let him know from Bronson that they called it about 2:30. Radar confirmed it.
Wish I knew AJ14's cell # so I could call him......

Oh well , we tried . The closer we got to the track , it was easy to see why they called it off .

I prefer to call it "The Cup lite series" since half the field is cup drivers.
