  • DeSoto Late Model Race of 5-9-09

Does anyone know the drivers that were in the first aireborne wreck? Wondered how they faired...saw where the 1 that almost cleared the front straight fence was fron N.C.! The black car that the rollback took was in pretty bad shape...what a wreck...I don't think I have ever seen a car so high in the air...luckily the fence caught him and held...did anyone tape this? The second spectacular wreck we couldn't see as well, but he did just opposite and did see him sliding down the front straight on his roof and hit the corner wall...heard he was doing fine...needs a new roof!!! Boy was it a Full Moon!!! Yoho and Jefferson's car fight was very exciting, too!! Wasn't sure about this new concept, but it seems to be making some exciting races. Like the heat races..reminds us of days of ole..gives the fans a peek at who will be racing...come the feature!! Was so stunned, as it happened right in front of us...did the white car land on the other two cars..must of closed my eyes...no I think I got up and ran about the time the fence was being stretched to the max and wires began breaking...so I missed his landing!!

Let's see if this was any other track they would have a photographer and a video man. Of course this isnt any other track so they dont. Old video Bob was there for 100 years given the boot by the King, Carleen Wilbanks took pictures was thrown to the curb along with her Husband by the King. Was told the last photo group left because the King wanted to double what he was already charging them. Same ol story Same ol song and dance. Wonder why no one sits in the stands? Because no one knows whats going on.

It was the #46 of Matt Cohen (black car) and the #1 of Scott Holly. (white car) It took so long for them to work on the fence before just giving up and moving the crowd away from that area they actually fixed Scott's car and he was back out to race before they went back green. I did not see the wreck other than the ending because they were so far behind us but it must have been spectacular to get into the catch fence. Then to have a second wreck later on in the race with someone else flipping just confirmed the full moon was out.
