        Keep it up Bobby...

I'll say one thing, everytime I go to CCMP for a race their stands are pretty full. This past weekend I went to Desoto for a big late model race. Apparently the only ones who knew anything about it were the drivers because there was no one in the stands. I would not have known about it if it was not for a freind racing in it. I think more tracks need to start posting something when they have a big race to get some people to start coming to it.

Helper , now thats the type of post we need !!!! We have received word from on high that negativity will not be tolerated when it comes to CCMP!!!!
There are a number of tracks in Florida that are putting on good shows in front of decent crowds . And then there are others like Desoto that have some attendance issues . The problem at Desoto is no mystery .

The tracks that are well run and well promoted , like East Bay , Citrus County , Ocala , Five Flags , and apparently Bronson, show that there is still hope . Crowds are important , but racer participation is even more important to a tracks' survival . Drag racing is the perfect example . An average dragstrip draws 100 to 150 or more cars per race night . Not to mention the motorcycles . And maybe 50 spectators on a good night . Figures for NHRA Regional or National events are different of course . Much larger numbers but the same ratio of cars to fans . And right now drag racing is holding its own .

DeMan.. I guess I missed it before it got removed. Shame that it did it was a good race.

AJ, I myself have a local drag strip, but it is so damn boring the way they run it, I would rather drive 2 hours to CCMP. Yes, it draws bigger crowds and car counts then I saw at Hialeah when it was open. The drivers pay $25 bucks to run down 1/8 mile runway and never win anything and they do not care. They just want to race. So there is a different mind set among drag racers then oval track racers. Why they do that can not say. If it could be applied to oval track not sure as there seems to be more wanted in return from oval track racers and track owners. I myself prefer oval racing when Hendry opens up then I may spend more time there as that will now be the closest track.

I think I overheard you say at the Little 500 that the last time you had a good laugh was at the pool party you went to earlier this year.
