  • ASA Late Model South at Watermellon

It was a strainge night of racing. Justin Larson was the class of the field until around lap 60 when the full moon popped out above the trees. That's when bussiness started picking up. Justin blew the motor after coming from the back all the way up to fourth. He was running faster than Brannon while he was coming back up thru the field. I wish Larson would have been there at the end. It might have been a different outcome. We will never know.

Brannon and Dunn started side by side when Cope had to go to the rear after qualifying. Brannon had a good car and started making his way to the front while Dunn car didn't come in until late in the race. Dunn again did a masterful job of avoiding two crashes inches from him and finding a new line that worked to bring the car home with another top five.

Well, with the funding, the team, and the big points lead that Brannon has behind him I guess the real race is for second place. And with three of the top five teams not even sure if they are going to complete the season than second place could go to anyone in the top seven right now.

I do have to say that after the race almost all of the Florida teams spent the night at the track and celibrated all three of the boy's birthdays and Mother's Day until the wee hours of the morning, Good fun for all. We had a GREAT TIME. We have met a lot of great people. That is a big part of what racing is all about.

    Here are the points.

Well there you have it FRASS . If not for Bobbys' incredible business sense and keen insight into the world of racing , there would be no truck racing any where on Earth . Of course he should probably learn to spell the names of all of his high powered contacts .
Interesting list of accomplishments , but the obvious question would be why isn't he still involved with any of them .
Trying to make yourself look important by hanging on to other peoples coat tails is just sad .

Bobby, you are right. Some people just don't get it. I can't speak for everybody you listed but I can say that I am VERY GREATFUL that you gave me a place so I could advance and hone my 12 yr olds sons driving skills in a full size V8 stock car. Like a lot of kids in America, my sons had tons of experiance by that age and need oppertunity that you gave us. I'm sure that they all are glad to say that they came up thru the Fastrucks. You should add on your list the drivers that ran in your Fast Late Model Series also.

            Keep up the good work.

              Thanks!!!!

Yeah it just gets old. Some may not have a clue. The thing about being a teacher is watching what you've work with do good. I will not stop. Just remember the goal as a Teacher isn't who your are, but rather what has become of those who you have know. Some will never get. Oh well. Thanks for the support.
Hope to see Dustin and the other members of the FASTRUCK Family of racers at the next 5-30-09 Late Model Race. You make it "The GREATEST SHOW on EARTH".

Gotta go with Bobby here. I worked with kids for a great portion of my life. It's what they did AFTER they left me that showed me what kind of job I had done. Of course I never bragged about the ones that ended up in the police blotter. Congrats on the successes, Bobby.

I opened this thread just looking to get some news and results from Cordele. It only lasted 2 posts before Bobby jumps in with the "look at me, look at me" stuff.

Bobby, I understand your desire to Promote... I AM impressed with your desire. But, jumping onto every single post about almost any subject and turning it into The Bobby Diehl Show, is wearing thin. Aren't there some NON-racing fans that you should be trying to convert?

Locally in Orlando, there has been a series of Kia commercials on my favorite station. They are so annoying, and get repeated soooooo often, that now I just turn the dial. I'm sure the last thing the station wants is their listeners switching away and HOPING they'll be back.

It's also the last thing YOU should want too. If someone is constantly blowing their own horn, people will stop paying attention to anything you're saying. At some point you'll find out that noone is listening to you, and the reason is that you've said too much that didn't matter... now they won't listen when it does matter.

                    The ones we missed.

Way back in 1995 (I started Teaching in 1975) I had gone to twenty three funerals of the kids that I had taught form our school. It was too much to keep seeing these kids kill themselves with drugs and violence. Drive by's was common place. Over doses was also the cause of many. Many others died in multiple car crashes. We started a program that was called Team SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions). We when to other schools and gave a program during the Summer Drivers Ed Programs. Yeah we can't help them all, but if you don't try the odds are even worse. Oh by the way today we still have it going at CCMP. TEAM SADD Racing #95 Fab-4's. Giving Kids an alternative to the street.
And some will never ever get it.
                    Thanks for the support.

Nothing on this thread was about you until you made it about you Bobby. And thats a common trait of yours . People ask you nicely to stop forcing yourself into other peoples threads , and you not only ignore them , you double the gibberish . You are correct about one thing Bobby , SOME PEOPLE WILL NEVER EVER GET IT .

Frasson you and AJ have alot of nerve talking, you guys run your mouths on more threads that you didnt start than anyone else on here. You are both quick to tell people what they are doing wrong. What do you think your bitching is going to do? Stop Bobby from talking about people who raced for him. I think you two need to get over yourselfs.

I agree with Marshall, what possible difference does Bobby touting the kids that raced with him in the fast truck series make to your post. I for one am proud to be associated with Bobby and CCMP. What he's doing there is working and all I hear is bitching about his posts. Who cares about that. He is intramental in keeping short track racing alive and thats ok in my book. If we keep losing tracks this board is going to be just that, bored. Thank you
                          Have a blessed Day... Bob...

I certainly won't try to speak for Frasson here , or anyone else for that matter , but heres my take on the subject . I'll agree that i don't hesitate to throw my opinion into the mix . And my opinion is just that , my opinion . And like everyone elses opinion , mine can be accepted , rejected , or ignored .
The point to all of this is really fairly simple . Go to the very first post of this thread and see if you can find any mention of Bobby , or his track , or his series , or his former students , or his supposed history of saving at risk youth . I'll save you the trouble of looking . There is nothing concerning Bobby or anything about Bobby . But as usual , Bobby felt people weren't paying attention to him so he decided to take over the thread by introducing what he wanted to talk about ... himself . A thread is called a thread because every post expands on the original post . I try to continue threads when i respond . I don'y know of any instance where i just jumped in and changed the topic completely . If i ever have i apologize because thats not what a forum is supposed to be . In Bobbys alternate universe , his posts pay no attention to the original idea , because he believes in diverting attention away from the topic and on to himself .

Now anytime Bobby wants to devote a thread to his former racers , and let us all know how he is responsible for their careers , i'll enjoy reading it. But walking all over someone elses post simply to draw attention to himself and show everyone that he can , well thats something else again .

And to Marshalls post concerning my participation on other posts , i don't know how i could participate on this board if i didn't add to threads . If we all just sit back and read instead of adding to threads or starting our own , there isn't going to be anything TO read . But adding to a thread is just that , commenting on , and advancing the original post . At least thats my understanding of how forums work . Bobby sees this board as a free place to advertise ( if you can call that mess advertising ) , he doesn't really participate in threads , and apparently doesn't pay the slightest attention to any of the ideas that get presented . And he seems to feel that people on this board don't know enough about his past to challenge his BS .
