    oh really

I was in the pits that night and watching the race. Cope got what he deserved. What you don't see is Cope trying to get by a car that is not funded like is, Cope spun the 18 out once. Then Cope took the 18 out again and Andy Warren was not going to lay down. Both and Cope were fined and suspended. That was Copes last race at Sunshine, he would not pay the fine. I remember watching a race years ago on tv and Cope was invovled in a fight, he didn't win that either.

I remember that one very well . Warren just refused to ever get out of anyones way . That move by Warren would get you arrested at a number of race tracks . There was always plenty of action at Sunshine .

          what year was that?

I seem to remember it but I may remember another Jimmy Cope fight. That brought back memories. Jimmys sponcer, Myakka Brokers, Billy Baker. Is he still around? He sponcered Rusty Dixon for years. His son in law. Bob...

            he wasn't

in anyone's way. Were does it say you give into the guy behind you on a 1/4 mile short track 30 lap race. Maybe a 100 lap race but not a 30 lap race near the end.

i think there is more to this than you are letting on

now did cope smile at your girl friend or some thing cause cope allways was a ladys man now the girls kinda thought he was macho kinda guy never did see the other guy

i don't think any one ought to roll over and play dead for any body but i never thought you should break check and mirrow drive or get down in grass or turn a car around unless the other guy starts to play the silly game of don't pass me

also when you go to the out side on some of these wore out tracks i don't think the inside car should take you to the wall either and when you drive by him he drives in next corner up in your window what do you do

if you get out run work on it don't crash the guy cause he is faster next time you might be the faster car and need the ----------------

after crap after seeing film it's plain and simple

you could see that the 61 was way faster than the 18 and was passing on out side the 18 came up on the 61 and of course the 61 got up set

but for the 18 to rocket blast his car and try to drive thru the 61 window man that guy should have either got a royal aaaaaaaaaaaaassssssss whhoopping or went to jail i could not believe it did he go to jail

if he only paid a fine man he was a lucky dude

                  if I

remember right, one of Cope's crew members call the police instead of letting the track deal with it and Warren was taken to jail that night. Cope may have been a lady's man once in his career but by the way he looked in his driving uniform that night don't think there was no danger. One on one I think Warren could have taken Cope that night. But I bet you would think differ. However, Cope knew is way around that 1/4 oval better then anyone (along with Dave Pletcher).

I'd have to bet against you about who would have won the fight. The boy in the 18 looked scared to death...somebody hits you in the back with a helmet and you run away? I don't think so.. He was trying his best to keep an official between himself and any fight!
