When you say " Free entry to late model race ". Are you saying that general admission is free? Or, Is this for drivers?

Free entry is for the Late Model racers. But I promise you, you won't be disappointed in the first annual "The Don" 100. No matter what people may think or not, Don Nerone cares about racing and he has seen it all, good and bad. There are alot of Super Lates out there that are just sitting and not doing much racing. Hopefully with no entry fee and good money to win, that will make it worthwhile for some more to come out.

Just remember, please support your local track unless you need a new mall, parking lot, storage sheds, etc. They need all your support right now and who could ask for a better thing to do on a Friday or Saturday night than sit under the stars and watch some great local short track racing.

Tony Altiere's name hasn't been seen in quite a while. Good to see a former racer getting back in it.

If you look at most of the 50 - 100 lap races at tracks there is an entry fee for the car of $50 - $150. This one has no entry fee. This does not mean pit entry.

Nevin Gainey has a ride for "The Don" and Shellnut will not be racing. They will be unveiling the 2010 Camaro and it will be the pace vehicle for the Late Model Race. The track is getting new sponsors and hopefully alot more fans.

                      Results

8 late models started and I think only 4 finish the 100 laps. Wayne Anderson won, Kevin Dicks finished 2nd and Doyle Boatwright was 3rd. Don't remember the rest. Columbia will be posting it soon on their site.
                      just wantin' ta race.....

Desoto's 75 lap Hoosier late model race was more successful. Scofield dominated,it was good to see him race again. Wayne Jefferson and Steve Dorer also were in the 21 car field. Unfortunately there were long delays due to serious wrecks in the event. Too bad nobody was there to see the race. John should look at the Nascar schedule before he does his calender.

Hey Gary J , you probably didn't realize it but you posted in the wrong thread . I'm sure it was just a mistake , certainly not an attempt to get a mention for another track and at the same time indulge in some Nerone envy . If you need help in posting , let someone know .
