They are doing really good at Monroe. You can check out the track and results at www.monroemotorspeedway.com.

Rusty will soon have the Battle of the Bayou at the end of May where Legends and Bandoleros will have a regional qualifier. He is hoping that a few of the Florida boys come to that. And in June, the CRA will be at Monroe and he is hoping some of our Supers will come. I will be doing a story on that soon. But check out the website sometime and see.

Mother's Day weekend will be very exciting with the SUPR Dirt Late Models on concrete. They travel throughout Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and really have a decent car count wherever they go. Plus he's got a Mother's Day Powder Puff which should be really cool.

They are making the SUPR Dirt Late Model race a double point race!!! It has been told to me to expect 35 + cars for this event! The folks of this area and Mississippi and Texas are huge followers of this series.

As far as our regular car counts we seem to be stuck on about 67 cars per week for a regular show....and of course never the same 67 cars...if they would all show up at the same time we would be in GREAT shape. The grandstands here do very well we will have 2-2500 people here on a regular show.

The class organization is going fairly well....of course it is like anything...there are a lot of guys waiting to see what happens with the new Management Team. We have had several drivers meeting so far and now are going into the phase of by class meetings.

The Crash-A-Rama did OK here..in fact I think that it did exactly what I thought it would do. Standing room only, but not a lot of participation from the locals with the show...simply because they did not know what to expect. They are primed and pumped for the Halloween show now though.

The weather has started to warm THANK GOODNESS!!!! Track is beautiful..of course still needs a lot due to it being a new construction. I have added to the landscape..I now have 8 beautiful busses in the back lot gives me the feel of OSW

Hope to see some of you up here from time to time!

I have spoken to several drivers and they have said that they will be here for certain events.

We have the enhanced CRA Super Late Model Race
          Televised ASA Southeast
SUPR Dirt hmmmmm Hey Ken wanna try a BIG show battle of the Dirt Cars??? Now there is an idea
Battle in the Bayou...Legends, Bando's ThunderRoadsters

Come on up and have some Cajun Crawfish, RIbeye steak sammij, Fresh fried catfish, smoked turkey legs and cajun pork chop sammij just a few of the extra items in our concessions

Hope to see you all soon

After her failed Vice Presidential bid, it appears as if Sarah "Barracuda" Palin wound up working for Rusty at Monroe!

Common belief among those covering the election was that Todd Palin liked, "that strange guy that always wears the Dixie Shootout t-shirt," as he called him, but most political insiders were just uncomfortable with how much he inserted himself into the Palin's inner circle. Some even say it ultimately cost her the election.
