    FAST MINI CUP SERIES
Were at Auburndale Speedway and brought the Fans to their feet. As they watch Jeff Scofield & his group race Mini Cup Cars.
Only to see Jeff have a chain came off. But he never look back until he had to pull off. Other than a driver hitting the wall, and being okay. The night of racing was great.
Be sure to come watch Jeff back in it next Sat. night at Auburndale again.
Jeff Scofield, Danny Scofield, Rick Ragan, Dale Pulst, Tyler Scofield will go at it again, along with several other drivers.

Want to also CONGRATULATE Joey Coulter on a great run with the Arca race finishing 8th out of 41 cars. Way to go Joey.
THANKS FOR SUPPORTING THE FAST MINI CUP SERIES

Why the hate? The appearance of the small guest series like the Fast Mini Cup Series and the Desoto Champ Kart Series only help the local classes, with increased pit pass sales, pit slabs, and concessions of crew and family/friends. They aren't the premier class at any track they visit, and they don't pretend to be.

Some promoters put them at the end of the program, on purpose. That way, fans who don't care to see them can leave.

It's a win-win for everyone involved. The only downside that I have seen is when a promoter books too many classes, and then has to cancel/postpone features at the end of the night, when they run out of time. That isn't fair, at all, to the local classes.

At Citrus County on April 18, the Desoto Champ Kart Series brought 31 karts to the track. They also brought a healthy amount of crew, family and friends (you can hear them screaming loudly in the feature video on YouTube). The next "Triple Crown" race is at Auburndale on June 6, and it's likely they will bring 30+ entries to the track again that night. How is that NOT a good thing for the track?

It's 2009, and most tracks are struggling. Including guest series in the schedule can be a good thing, for all involved.

Nope, not kidding. I've read enough posts mocking the Mini Cups and the Bandeleros to know the score.

Guest classes can add value to a track. It's something that I wish more Karnicians could appreciate.

There are indeed lots of posts critical of mini cups and Bandeleros; I've written many of them myself. The Bandeleros are, IMHO, the main reason that Speedworld lost its Friday night crowd.

When tracks push kids in karts as part of a auto racing show, they do so at their own peril. Most stock car fans don't want to see tiny cars with centrifigal clutches. There is a reason that kart tracks do not even try to sell tickets. Oh wait, I almost forgot that the De Soto karts are the "most popular touring series in Florida." Yeah right! What does THAT result tell you about internet polls?

Do you really believe the mini cups "brought the stands to their feet"? I don't. Did it occur to you that I was poking fun at them because of the over-blown presentation of their races on this board?

99, you and I actually agree on one thing: added classes can be a benefit. I don't expect you to remember, but I've suggested several racing related events to add to a show: racing lawn mowers, mini motards, etc. They would have a one-night boost for the back gate, and more importantly, expose our sport to race-minded people from other ends of the racing spectrum, in hopes of luring them to our brand of the sport. But beware, any track that presents non-racing cars as the main event in their program runs the risk of ticking off their stock car fans.

A final comment regarding your accusation of "hate". Its sad to see that in our culture one side of the political spectrum uses that term for anyone who disagrees with them. The merits of the debate don't matter, if you disagree, you are incorrectly branded a hater. A sad situation.

Good points. And yes, "hate" wasn't the best word choice. In today's society, that word has other meanings, that differ from what I was trying to say.

It just irritated me that a small racing series put a post about their series on Karnac yesterday, and within an hour, two posters had mocked them. No disagreement of content, no alternative discussion, just posts that mocked them.

It's a public forum, and anyone who posts knows that others may take shots at them. But, it doesn't make it right. JMO.

Hey, it's Bobby "I post anywhere I please, regardless of if the thread has anything to do with CCMP or not," Diehl.

I have to admit, the thought of Jeff Scofield in a MiniCup sounds fairly entertaining. I'd actually like to see him get back into wingless sprints again.
