  • Great Night at VSP

Between the two sprint car series, we had almost 50 sprints in the pits. It was great and Top Gun put on a great show. It was really nice seeing Don and Curtis again also. Plus Rob Underwood got the Modified win and that was fun seeing Rob in victory lane again. Cody Blair did great for his third time on dirt and Dalton Strehle tried his best but he will get his first win soon in those 4 cyl. challengers. But we had a fun night, a good crowd, and plenty of action. Hope everyone had a very good Saturday night wherever they went.

Honestly, dirt racing is doing great. They are pulling good stands and good car counts and I do wish that alot of asphalt fans would come just once. Last night NSS had a 50 lap $600 to win Sportsman race with 13 Sportsman. On a regular night, VSP will pull 24 Sportsman for a regular race. That is almost twice as many as NSS for a regular race.

I will be honest, I was not a dirt fan until I began working for VSP and I have become a dirt fan. The racing is very exciting and the fields are great. I know the Thunder Stocks have not had more than 6 cars but I have been told that at least 10 are being built right now for Volusia and soon the field will be just as big as the rest.

Don't get me wrong, I still love asphalt but now I also have a new love for dirt and boy is it fun. I look forward to getting to know the drivers better soon but I have met alot of new friends in the grandstands and love to talk to them about what they think makes dirt so much better. And I still love drag racing also so you can mix round track and straight track and dirt track and asphalt track and boy, it sure makes for great racing.

See ya next Saturday and remember, Elvis will be there.
