They are talking to track owners.

He is currently talking to track owners to start a new class and they have I think 3 interested. They are going to make each track sign a contract to Guarantee the rules for at least 5 years and Not to schedule on top of others in their area. It may be the wave of the future. Bob...

when we ran a-dale last year we were able to get 2 races on a set of the slicks. with these treads we shall see. this weekend will be our second race on them. 15 grand sure seems like a steep investment to own a "modified" Modified that doesnt have a class at a track or a series to run in. I have found out in modifieds you dont have to have brand new to run competitive. Like i said before I bought a roller mod that was 7 years old and we have run competitive with it at ocala and auburndale

I didn't see anything very new or exciting there . I saw the car run , it was okay , exactly what you would expect fot a FL. modified with no roof , bigger tires and a little better aero . No need to spend $15,000 . Change the cars you already have !
Modifieds ( and Late models too ) should run the widest tires available . I drove over to NSS for the Nascar Tour modifieds at Speedweeks , saw one of the best races i've ever seen ( the Richie Evans ), and it had just as much to do with the very wide tires they run as anything else . I've never talked to anyone who thought the Nascar modifieds would put on a better show by running 8 or 10 inch wide tires .

            Bullet Car

If you had looked at the rules which we have passed out by the hundreds, you will see that BODIES ARE OPTIONAL - no roof. Just to calm everyone down, we will be starting another car, same exact rules, this one with a wedge body similar to some of the Sportsman cars except for the roof. We are NOT trying to compete with existing cars, we are trying to create a new car which can be built reasonably with readily available parts. Yes, it's fast but I thought we were talking about race cars - not taxies. Just a note - we have run well over 100 laps in HOT weather and the mold marks are still on the tires.

And regarding the life of wider tires , they can last as long as any other tire if the compound is hard . Make them too hard , and you defeat the purpose of going to wide tires , but they can be made to last .
Pricing can also be controlled . But when tracks accept big checks from these tire companies to be the official tire , then the tires automatically become more expensive so the tire people and the tracks can both make money . If a tire company and a track can force everyone to use one brand and type of tire , then the pricing will never go down and the quality will never go up . Throw out the " track tire " crap , let the drivers run any brand of tire they want , and get all of the race tire manufacturers to compete on price . Thats how you help the racers .

i was not cutting your car down

good looking car i know who you are and i know you know what you are doing .

i just want to go faster i just hate 8 inch treaded tires heck put super lates and sprint cars and ever body on 8 inch tires and you want have to worry about fans - rules or any thing do you see were i'm coming from

put open wheels on 10 inch tires and that follow the leader crap will be over with cause man with big coconuts can come from the back on outside

I know the gentlemen involved with this car and i respect them . But the post they made above makes me laugh . He mentions the fact that the car is fast and says that the whole idea of racing is to go fast . Well yes , but he then goes on to list the drivetrain as being one of those god-awfull race track killing , engine builder killing , fan interest killing ,creative and cognitive ability killing crate motors backed up by a thirty year old automatic trans .
Oh , and while i admit that S-10s are certainly out there to be had , i'm not so sure that there aren't much better ideas for a new racing series . How about coming up with a simple tube frame car very similar to what you already have and selling the detailed plans to people who don't want to buy a roller from you . Every racer has a welder , every racer can weld or knows someone who can . Please stop the crate motor insanity . Why make it a spec series ? There are a lot of overhead cam 4 cyls and V6s out there . Many of which are backed up bt 4 and 5 speed tranmissions . Light car would fly with one of those engines . They start going too fast , add weight .

Oh good thats just what we need another class of car to water down the classes that are already there.

I wonder why the powers that be just don't get it. Get rid of a few classes and consolidate. Don't add more. How many people keep saying the same thing but nobody listens? Jeeesh. No sense repeating it again but how ignorant does the racing establishment need to be?

For the record, I think the cars look cool as hell, but you lost me when I read this is a spec class, unless I am misreading this. I like different engine combinations and such, that's just me, and I love modifieds. Just like when "the Don" tried the Extreme Modifieds - I thought it was a great idea, it just fell apart in the implementation.
