Well I guess that wraps up Aric Almirola's NASCAR career. Even though he's out of a ride not because of performance, but because of sponsorship issues, I still think he didn't show the necessary talent in late models to warrant the Sprint Cup opportunity. I know this issue was discussed in length on this board several months ago but facts are facts. He was a very average driver in late models who got pushed through the diversity program. On a related note, how long before Ricky Carmichael is in Sprint Cup? Here's another driver who hasn't shown much but just keeps getting moved right on up. All you need to know about Ricky Carmichael is when he drove Dick Anderson's #92 at the World Series in 2008 and didn't even come close to winning, but Jeff Choquette or Wayne Anderson in that same car did great.

I agree, I have seen him in a latemodel also. He was about as competitive as a wet sock. But with diversity programs and a family or friend with money comes opportunity. But it appears that has ended also. Gibbs was his best shot but after his little attitude / tantrum when Hamlin jumped in the car and finished with the win. Well they saw he wasn't their type of team player and history tells the rest.

Even though he's out of a ride not because of performance,
his performance hasn't been an issue?
i would think it would have been a lot easier to keep a sponsor around if he had been finishing in the top 15 once in a while.
heck, look at Ambrose. he's in a 3rd tier car and he's still getting top tens. i kinda think Marcos is actually going to make a go of this NASCAR thing.Racers Supporting Racers - for all your Vero Beach area automotive repair needs:

I wouldn't worry.
Given Aric's cockroach-like ability to hold onto 15 minutes of fame for longer than the average flash in the pan, and given that Obama will probably kick some relief checks NASCAR's way, well...as long as they agree to root out all the hard working, American born and bred, pale-faced fellows from their rides and replace them with some no-talent, government-doled, foreigners (or at least using a foreign sounding last name).....
he will probably land on his feet in the Gibbs, Roush or Hendricks camp sometime soon. And although they will SAY that they've had their eye on him for some time now and have watched his progress with great interest, it will be pretty apparent (as it is now, also) that whatever ride is GIVEN to him we can all rest assured it will not have been EARNED in any way shape or form. Which has sadly been the case in NASCAR for more years than I care to remember.
So GO ARIC!! I look forward to hearing about your results dragging down the average for whatever team picks you up next. And never forget your ancestor's heritage. No matter what endeavor you chose, after some more racing deals dry up due to uh...lack of sponsorship, I'm sure the governments efforts to reward THEIR struggles will continue to provide income for you for years to come.
VIVA LA COATTAILS!!!!!!
