    FASTRUCK meeting at CCMP 4-11-09.

We had a meeting at CCMP on Saturday 4-11-09 and discuss the future of FASTRUCK. The Series is working with several other tracks to add dates to the FASTRUCK Pro Touring Series. We will have press release shortly. Also the website, points, and updates will be covered by Vickie Grogan. I had a conversation with Ronnie Sims today and he still is looking for support funds to offset his cost to direct the Series. Citrus and Bronson are two of the tracks with meetings scheduled for a couple of others. The FASTRUCK Series has a Nationally known name. The Teams that were there do not want to loose the TOMA of the name. When winning a Championship with the level of FASTRUCK’s name looks good on your Teams Portfolio. Examples: Joe Lagano, Mark Davis, Aric Armarola, Blake Koch, Joie Coulter, Matt Martin, Dalton Zehr, and many other young drivers that are making their names in the higher level Pro Series such as Hooter Pro Cup, ARCA, ASA Late Models and NASCAR. Their are serveral Teams that have their Drivers in develope Program now and others looking to be picked up.
Thanks for your interest. I hope this answers your questions.

No that does not answer the question. What was the point of the meeting? Also when did the names mentioned above win FASTRUCK championships? Just wondering. THANKS.

I have to agree TrucKRacer , i'm a little puzzled by that post as well .
I sure wish the truck racers in Florida would get together , on their own if needed , and start showing up as a group for scheduled races . I don't really think a sanctioning organization is necessary . If Columbia , or Bronson , or whoever , stages a truck race , and the payout looks alright , then get everybody together and go to the track . Instead of having a sanctioning body go in and negotiate a per truck payout ( the costs of which are sure to keep most track owners from inviting your group back ) just get a group of motivated racers together who just want to race and tow to whichever track is having a race that weekend . One upside to that idea is that i think the rules would tend to correct THEMSELVES statewide . You wouldn't have one promoter or track changing the rules only because they wants to be different than a rival promoter . A group of twenty or thirty , or more trucks showing up for a race is going to go a long way toward putting racing back on its feet .

I think that some tracks are trying this idea without FASTRUCK. That is probably what the meeting was really about. Just thinking out loud.
