That sounds like fun. How are they going to format the spectator races? Is it going to be one-on-one drags like the old days? I remember staying for the whole show just to watch them.

We are going to do our best to match up the cars evenly and then they will go head-to-head... Should be a fun night!

I will be posting purse information for both 50 lappers later this afternoon on the NSS Website.

Thats great , $5.00 admission . Glad to see somebody looking out for the fans . I wonder if food and drink prices will be reduced for that night as well ? Even if they aren't , dropping the ticket prices is still a good thing .
Fan racing used to be big all over Florida , but seemed to die out . I imagine insurance companies had something to do with that .

aren't fans who wish to race also going to have to have a pit pass? no?

No... if they wish to race, we will bring them around at their race time and sign them in and then they will be brought back around to the grandstand.

The winner of the head-to-head Fan Races (round-robin style) will take home $100.00...

After that, all the Fans Racers (who want to) will be invited to take part in a Winner Take All 5 Lap Race against all the other cars with the winner getting $200.00!

It's gonna be a fun night at the high-banked half-mile!

                Now

That sounds like fun (I don't care who you are).

I have seen a bunch of "One on One" fan races, but never a 5 lap jobber like you are describing... WOW... now thats interesting... wonder how many are going to be shopping for used fenders Sunday Morning?

                Good luck

Well there was a guy there Sat night that was asking how we pair up the cars... I told him we do our best to match somewhat evenly when we can... he said he wanted to bring his porche 911... not sure if he was full of it or not... but that would be a sight to watch!

In 1996 they use to have the one-on-one spectator races then a 5 lap feature race with all the cars/trucks/vans. That was when you tried to beat the blue Corvette and my husband did. The blue Corvette wrecked himself on the front stretch and another Corvette (white, I think a 1971) showed up and wrecked with a Volare (ours). A night I will never forget...
