  • Get ready for the next "THe Late Model Catipal of the SOUTH" race at CCMP 4-25-09!!!!

CCMP fine tunes the Late Model rule package.
    ________________________________________
We have had two races with the new combination of rules for all the divisions of Late Models. As we new that when it was started that we would probity need to fine tune as we go. With the results of the two races under our belt we are making a fine adjustment. The ASA Style Crate 604 cars needed just a little to bring them up to the playing field.

The program in the being saw us:
Add 100 lbs to the Supers
Drop 150 lbs from the Goodyear Challenge
Drop 150 lbs from the Limited
Drop 75 lbs from the ASA Style Crate 604 (This is were we may the adjustment)
Drop 50 lbs from the Limited with a Crate 604.
    All 58 % left side.
This formula seem to be close for all the Divisions.

So here they are spell out for the 4-25-09 Late Model Race.
    WEIGHT:

    1. Category #1
Limited Late Model. Front stock clip car. Big Spring stock type steering (no coil over stocks) 604 GM Crate weight 2600 lbs
    58% left side

    2, Category #2
Limited Late Model Front Stock Clip Car. Big Spring Stock Type steering (No Coil Over Stocks) stock 4 BBL
Weight 2750 lbs 58% left side

    3,Category #3
ASA Style Late Model (Super Late CAR)
604 GM Crate weight 2650 Lbs 58% left side
THIS IS THE ONLY CHANGE ON THE RULE PACKAGE!!!!!

    4. Category #4
Goodyear Challenge Car Stock Clip car Big Spring stock type steering (No Coil Over Shocks)
Progressive or Jam Spec Motors Weight 2750 lbs 58 % left side

    5.Category #5
Super Late Model Progressive or Jam Spec Motors Weight 2800 lbs
    58 % left side

    6. Category #6
Super Late Model 366ci Iron Head 390 carb 2850lbs 58% left side

    7. Category #7
Super late Model weight 2800 lbs 56% left side
$3000.00 to win with 21 cars, and over $14,000.00 purse.

We will keep a close eye on qualifying times and the races to make the next adjustment if necessary.

This is why we are "The Late Model Capital of SOUTH"Thanks for your support and call for your slabs. 941-575-7223

      Bobby,

Why don't you just make the ASA style car run the ASA rules? 2700 lbs and 59% left instead of taking off weight. That way we don't have to change our cars just to come and race with you. It would work out about the same and MAYBE an ASA car could stand a chance against a Super.

      Thanks

        Mr. 59 South.

We have taken careful time to get the level playing field. It sounds like a possibility, but we are going to this first. I understand that reworking the (scaling) takes a little time to get the change down then all you have to due is setup two or "b". Hope to see you if your not running the ASA Series when there off. Thanks Andrew and give a pat on Dustin back.
        Thanks for your input.

Agree 100%. Why can't we just run 1% more left and take a 50 pound weight penalty? I would rather not have to re-setup my car for these rules, then turn around and undo it all for the next ASA race.

Bobby, maybe us young kids don't know how to scale our cars. Dad's gonna be awful mad if we have to take the car back over to ___________shop to have it scaled.

What a complete joke..... SEVEN different rules packages for LM's in the state of Florida.

No wonder there isn't an asphalt track in the state (other than 5 Flags) that is even close to having their shit together.

Give it up, cover the damn things with dirt, or watch your racetracks go further down the tubes.

And another thing... 5 Flags has ONE rule book about what a Super Late Model is, and they follow it to the letter. They also seem to know what a CRATE LM is, and they also have ONE rule book. Funny how a single track can pull 70 cars in each group by strictly following the rule books, when all the local tracks are doing back-flips if they pull 15 cars. And they need a pool of SEVEN different rules to get them.

Wow Frasson, why so much negativity?? First off it seems to be working and putting on a pretty good show, and I really don't think 5 Flags has 70 late models every month when they run late models. If they do have 70 late models weekly, good for them, just have a hard time believing that. Another thing is location, 5 Flags is in a great location and can pull cars from a large area, a lot harder to do in the far south part of Florida. I wish there was 25 or 30 late models every time they run, but I'm afraid those days are gone, at least in Florida. You know what is crazy, Mansfield Speedway had the 25 to 30 late models every week and they closed the track, go figure.....

At 1:38 pm today, a news conference was quickly called at REX Engineering/Real Racin' USA/Karnac.com/Initech worldwide headquarters in Titusville, Florida. Local media baron Rex Hollinger addressed local reporters before the press were allowed to have lunch consisting of tastefully appointed finger sandwiches and Hawaiian Punch, the highlight of which was the egg salad.

"REX Engineering does not approve of such potty mouth beahvior on our message boards and today this stops," said Hollinger. "To my left, your right if you are standing in front of me, is one Frasson118. He will now be taken to the outskirts of town, stripped of his coat and tie, have his own socks stuffed in his mouth, and then tarred and feathered. Let this serve as a warning to the rest of you on the message board. No potty mouth beahvior. Class dismissed."

While local media representatives wondered why they were dismissed like a common high school assembly, local man Osmosis Jones was seen lining his pockets with egg salad finger sandwiches and crawling out of the building via a fire escape.
