  • Columbia Motorsports Park 100 Lap Late Model

Columbia Motorsports Park in Lake City, FL...This Saturday night 4/4 presents 100 lap Late Model Race with $2,000 to win. All cautions laps will count, last 5 under green.

This is an attempt to save the Late Model class racing. I am sure that some of the competitors won't like the rules and it is good for others. What needs to happen is for the teams that can to try it before you condemn it. All 3 types of cars have won here with this rule package. We started this last June and this is the first chance to run a big race.
Limited Lates with spec engines 2800 lb. 57 left
SLM 9 to 1, steel head or spec 2800 lb. 57 left with 4412 holey
Crate ASA type 2700 lb. 58 left

This is very close to the ASA South East Tour rules and what they run at Desoto and South Georgia Speedway. Would love to know who is coming; I won't make up a wish list like others do. You tell them who is coming. No circus tents, lions, tigers or bears just Good Southern Style Stock Car Racing.

FREE PARKING, FREE CAMPING, NO ENTRY FEE, NO MANDATORY FUEL BUY, WE RUN HOOSIER 2045 TIRES...BUY 4 TIRES GET $100 DISCOUNT. WE ARE DOING ALL WE CAN FOR THE RACER IN TOUGH TIMES. FRIENDLY ATTITUDE AND GOOD FOOD

Grandstands are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors/students and under 12 always FREE. If you have any questions please call Don at 386/547-5152.

    Thanks, Don Nerone

Sandy , any promoter knows that people do not pay attention to posts that don't include many , many exclamation points and bouncing emoticons .
    JUST KIDDING .
I think you might be on to something with the package you're presenting . Especially no entry fee . The rules seem to be a good cross section of several successfull tracks . Good luck . If the cars don't show up , i can't imagine what else they think they need . A number of race tracks in Florida are making the effort , now its up to the racers and fans to show up and support it .

I know...but I just don't get into that!!!!!! I hope the racers do come, but you know racers they pick and choose! Oh well guess I need to put out a wish list of who is going to be there and then make up an excuse for the reason they weren't. Thanks for the good wishes
