  • Wayne Anderson to pull double duty this weekend.

For everyone that read the Orlando Speedworld website, the rumor of Wayne Anderson driving his father's #92 tonight in the Orange Blossom 100 is true. Then on Saturday, Wayne will jump in the #77 for the super late model race at Auburndale.

Please come out and say hi during the autograph session at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Orange Blossom 100. We know everyone at OSW is working hard to make this a good show.

    Thanks.

Congrats to Jason Vail for being to only one with enough balls to take 1 car to both races this weekend. I'm starting to think the rest of these guys squat when they pee!

Maybe you should learn to pay more attention to detail before you run your mouth and notice that Daniel Webster was in the #33 both races and finished second both times.

Sorry to ruffle your panties there... I did miss that.

And to Wayne's credit, he is about the only one anymore who will even attempt such a thing. It's just that I grew up in a time when guys would take their cars to any track, of any size, on consecutive nights, just so they could RACE. Now, once someone has their car "dialed in" at one track, they don't have the brains or guts enough to change things around to race somewhere else.

I'd like to add Daniel Webster to the (very short) list of guys that have enough balls to give it a try!

Why does it always seem to be Wayne's fans that have such a rotten attitude?

Who has the rotten attitude around here? It's not me - it's you.

You get on here and you insult the drivers by implying that they don't have any balls by taking their car to two different shows that aren't even close to each other, then you attempt to back-peddle with a half-hearted compliment to Wayne, when in reality you said point blank, "taking one car to both shows," which to me implicates Wayne somehow but he contested both shows with different car owners, as if that were some sort of crime.

If you would have wandered around the pits at OSW on Friday night you would have seen the #92 was towed in a trailer with a pickup truck. Yet you constantly want to lump Wayne into the same crowd as Russell and Colangelo, both of whom had toterhomes at OSW so big a small village could live in them comfortably for a week.

And speaking of Friday night's race at OSW, you like to say in another post that "There was NOTHING 'historical' about this version of the Marion Edwards Memorial..." well, I'll tell you who it was historical to - Jeremy Colangelo. He was on cloud nine to have his name on that trophy because of the historical significance of that race, but here you come and dump all over it. He's probably still on cloud nine, but that's okay, come on here and dump all over it, because I know you would never say those things to an actual racecar driver's face.

You're striking a chord with me because I started this thread for one sole reason - to try and get more fans out to the race at OSW. I don't care if you like Wayne or not, but people have regularly posted on here that they want to know what drivers are going to show up at races and the only promoter I see doing that on a regular basis is Bobby Diehl. That's the only reason I started this thread. It doesn't put one red cent in Wayne's pocket for me to post this, he doesn't get paid more if the crowds are larger - but I hope it does help put some butts in seats, and money in the promoter's pocket, because God knows that we need all the fans we can get at our tracks at this point in time.

Hell, come out and boo Wayne all you want, just spend your money to come watch the race before we're all talking about short track racing as though it were a distant memory.

All I can say is...... Man, get some glasses and re-read what I had said.

I was congratulating Jason Vail for being more "old school" than most racers these days. I made a mistake by not adding Daniel Webster to the list. Where in the world did I detract anything from Wayne's participation? I happen to think it's more impressive with one car (that has to be readjusted overnight) than it is to have 2 seperate cars in which each can be left somewhere close to the set-up it already has.

And NO, I'm not particularly impressed with "one-track wonders" that can kick ass at one place, yet won't try taking that show on the road to another track. I'm MUCH more impressed by versatility. It don't matter what driver, at which track, in whatever division. I like a guy who isn't afraid to pull into ANY pit area and give it his best shot.

As far as the open trailer vs Toterhome arguement, are you trying to tell me that Wayne Anderson is some kind of shoe-string racer that can only afford an open trailer behind a pick-up truck? You're dreamin' pal. I know better.

I'm sure that Jeremy Colangelo was VERY proud to have won that race. But was it because it was the Marion Edwards race? The poor man lost his life LOOOOONG before Jeremy was ever born. It could have been the 'Charlie Jablonski Memorial' and it would have meant just as much. It was a big win for HIM... not because of Marion. If Dick Anderson or David Rogers would have gotten the win, it WOULD have meant something personally to them, as these guys actually knew Marion Edwards.

In the past I have been vocally critical of Wayne Anderson. I still have my reasons for the way I feel. But, a few years back, I found out that some of my comments wound up hurting the feelings of his family (a consequence I hadn't thought through before that), and have promised the Anderson family, as well as myself, that I overstepped my bounds and had learned a lesson from it. You will never catch me typing anything PERSONALLY derogatory towards any driver... yet I will never stop being critical of uncalled-for actions.

Stop being so damned defensive, and actually look for the praise I was giving, instead of the arguement you are looking to start!

I see your point - this statement clearly was not to start an argument because there is nothing offensive in there...

This was not the Marion Edwards, Jr. race (started at Hialeah), but the Orange Blossom 100, which was always the first big race of the year at Palm Beach Fairgrounds... How about the multitude of SLM teams who didn't run EITHER race???
