  • Fact or fiction?

I have so much contact with people involved in racing. i hear stories by the hundreds. One thing that baffles me is how the rumor mill works.

when i hear a story about someone i go straight to that person or i shut my mouth knowing i had not been given 100% accurate information. I have seen so many people hurt by half truths or complete fabrications of the truth.

the reason for this post is to address that problem because it can be a very real problem that causes people hurt. i for one do not enjoy seeing people in pain... physical or emotional...

if someone comes to you with a story about someone , even if its a close friend of yours, please do not repeat it or at least wait until you have confronted the person involved and heard the REAL story from them.

every time someone comes on these boards talking about people or events there are some who agree and some who dont. its ok to disagree but it is NEVER ok to attack people in a harmful way. the truth hurts for a few minutes. lies hurt for a long long time.

i do NOT work for KARNAC, Inside Florida Racin, CCMP, or anyone other than my son at his roofing company. everything else you see me do is voluntary. i do it MOSTLY for our drivers...also for the fans and the track owners who, in spite of things you hate about them, work extremely hard...Some more than others. my interests are not motivated by money. i KNOW for fact what Jack Smith tries to do for racing. we communicate every single day talking about how we can help tracks or racers... sometimes we try to come up with different ways of reaching the public... everything has to be straight up and honest or we cant work together... nothing can work if its based on lies. I personally wont have any part in character assassination or the destruction of a race track. if a driver is acting up i try everything i can to share my experiences as a fan and a friend etc. and try to get them on track. especially the young ones starting out... they need to be constantly reminded that they are the show and their behavior will either make them or break them. i have seen some of the best racers in the state lose out on wonderful opportunities because of attitude problems.

ok... once again i got carried away. the thing i really wanted to emphisize is that the rumors need to stop and track support needs to be top priority in these tough times. if you have a question and want the real answer, call the person who makes it happen. if you call 5 other people you will most likely get 5 answers that are different.

trust in whats working... Jack, me, linda, some other fans, Bobby and the "ARMY" at CCMP have been working with some teams and some drivers and picking different local businesses to promote CCMP... to make ourselves known to the public... many of them have no idea we have a race track. as a result our stands and car count have improved enormously....we do this of our own free will and we do it for the love of racing.

so PLEASE keep it real so people dont get hurt and give up...racing needs us... thank you all for your continued support...
    much love
