  • What Are you Doing this Year????

Okay, time for some fun if possible. Racers - what are you doing this year?? Where are you running and are you going up in class or staying the same??
Let's hear from you - Boneman, Todd, Ron, RJ, everyone - what are your plans for 2009?? I know a few have decided to switch to dirt and if that is true, where are you going to race??

You say you want something different on the board - now is your chance. Let's hear from you - THE DRIVERS.

So far, I have no plans for this year. I did go to Volusia and write last weekend but as of yet, I don't have a job so I am looking. Hopefully Volusia can find it in their budget to have me but I understand the economy right now and how it is hard for everyone. I will be writing the Marion Edwards Memorial at Orlando on the 20th for karnac but other than that right now, I have no plans. Really does feel strange because I have devoted so many years to Orlando and New Smyrna but like I said, the economy SUCKS and I was just one of the ones laid off, let go, and not needed anymore. But I am not giving up on racing and Alex still wants to race some so hopefully he can again. Just have to see what the future and tomorrow holds.

Ok, fair enough, well good luck with wherever you end up. I was really looking forward to finally be able to race steadily in the Southern Sportsman Series this year but we all know about that, so it looks like I will also be racing at Auburndale because I dont want to hack up my car and I cannot afford to buy another. Hopefully I can make a race or two at some of the other tracks around the state. With the baby coming in a few weeks all racing will have to be put on hold so I can spend time with her

Two gorgeous cars there, George. I can only imagine what parts for the R-R must go for. We joke about a Corvette tax on our stuff but prices on R-R parts must be out of sight. People in N.O. will definitely enjoy seeing your car.

Parts are not bad. Engine was from GM and is ALMOST just a 455 with twin 2.25 " SU carbs. Trans is a GM Turbo 400. When you start replaing the hoses and belts then you go broke. If you stay on top of it it is just not that bad.
Now this one, thank God I sold it, was another story.

$30,000.00 real money to do a major engine out tune up

Wow, you have a serious collection! That Ferrari must be an amazing car to drive, but I could never afford to keep something like that on the road. I knew that Jaguar had used GM drivetrains, but I didn't realize that R-R did as well. Are replacement interior parts on the R-R out of sight?

I didn't want to be out done by George so I figured I would post a pic of my collector car. I even polished it for this pic

Look at the similarity between Ed's car and Michael Seay's car. Hmmm... Coincidence?

(my collecter car is almost as nice as Eds)

I quit fishing because there was no one handing out money at the docks when i got back. Why did you quit racing?

                            nice toys!

Ferrari was traded in on a Motor Home. My business is leather interiors so I get a great price
I have been playing with exotics since 1971 when I junked my stock car at Harmony NJ. My dad said that I should just do like he did walk away and work with clssic cars, they last longer, so I did.
I then found a site called 3wide and that gave me a bug to go buy a race car, so I did. I wish I had bought a pavement car since that is where most of the races in the south are run for those type but in Pa, N.Y. and N.J. it is dirt.
My daily drivers is a 1995 Mercedes Benz S500 I found for $5,000.00.
