  • The CCMP Late Model Challenge has a level playing field!!!

Everyone expressed that the rule package for the CCMP Late Models Challenge is on a level playing field. The FANS and Racers alike. With a ASA "Big Spring Car' Winning Bobby Shelton #8. 2nd was a Goodyear Challenge HOT ROD of Gary Padula #36. 3rd was the come through the field twice Goodyear Challenge Car of Joe Winchell #57. The first Super Late of #5 Joe Boyd (SET A NEW LAP RECORD) in 4th. 5th place saw another Goodyear Challenge "Team Coulter Travis Hanson. The Team efford of "Fox / Chastin" had Ross in the #4 of Randy's LLM to a 5th place finish. The 6th place went to the second ASA Challenger of #33 Casey Caudill. Ray Derry Super was the second Super Late Model #16. The Family Late Model of Maresca saw Martin politing the #14 of Martin's. Big "Mr. ED" Leaks was another Goodyear Challenge Car. #19 of Dale Dean's Limited Late Model next and #117 Ray Hesser Super rounded out the field. Congrats to the entire CCMP Late Model field only twelve started (do to the questionable scheduling of desoto), but one heck of a race. They all finished on the lead lap!!! The #8 of Sean LeMaster had problems in practice (dropped a cyclinder) with anothe Super.
Looking forward the "NATIONAL" ASA Late Model Series. The CCMP Triple Crown 3-13,14,15-09.
Thanks for the support for CCMP!

    Bobbys right!

The racing was clearly better with the mixed classes. These guys put on a class show. Joe Winchel was the star coming thru the field twice. He was on a mission. I think if there'd been 25 more laps he would have given Bobby Shelton a run. Bobby had a good car all night. It was a really good race to watch. There was racing all through the field. I have taped a whole lot of asphalt late Model races and most are, after the first 10 or 12 laps follow, the leader until about 10 to go and they come to life. This race had racing all the way thru it. I thoughly enjoyed it. Congrats to Bobby Shelton for a flag to flag wim. Bob...
