You should have been there. Mark got out front and was only challenged a hand full of times. One time he got into a lapped car and spun but he got his spot back. The #5w was on a rail as they say on asphalt. He was 1/2 way into another zip code. To watch the likes of Johnny Collins, Ivedent Loyd, Kieth Nosbisch, and Russel Brown up on the wheel all night was worth the price of admission, although I didn't have to pay. We started 25 cars I think. 4 heats, a B-main and a 50 lap feature made for a excellent night of racing. Bob....

Very good crowd at the front gate. Nice to see a lot of friends there. My fingers are sore this morning from tearing tickets at the gate.
As long as the government does not start trying to "regulate" racing, then it's going to be a great year at Ocala Speedway.

Ivedent Lloyd was on a mission throughout the race, picking his way through the field to the second spot before something broke in turn 4. He might have had something for Whitener had he not had the bad luck.

I also wonder how Rich Pratt is feeling this morning. I'm betting he hurts a lot worse than he did last night after that gigantic cluster erupted in turn 4. Pratt said later it was the second hardest hit he had ever taken, and the track crew dudes said Rich "wasn't all there" when he climbed out of his car. Those sort of things always hurt worse the next morning.

That was an excellent night of racing, and as usual the UDLMCS did an awesome job of putting on a show! And special thanks to Jack Smith and Rick Anges for all of the help and the complements too! I look forward to working with you guys in the future!

Rick, great job on the announcing as usual!

Jack, bonus points to you for making Mike smile and Angie cry. So where is my best writer award? ROFL!!!!!!

BJ, I didn't put 2 and 2 together last night or I would have introduced myself. I was the dude that bugged you to get my wireless transmitter on the board. I guess it just never dawned on me you were BJ Cavin. Good to meet you even though I really didn't get to meet you. Bob,,..

Well since everybody is tootin Ivedent's horn and others, what about Tyler Ivey? He started right back there with Ivedent and drove his way to the front to finish second, let's not over look this kid. He has really been impressive lately. Gave the big dogs a run down at Eastbay during Winternationals.

I'm not knocking anybody's else's posts with this, I'm simply adding my thoughts so please nobody take it that way.

I have to agree with you Rick. Tyler Ivey was quite a show and made a great run. I thought he might have something for Mark for a while, but Mark had it covered. Tyler has had some very good runs this year against some of the best in the business. I think he's got a great future ahead of him. I missed the mess with Rich Pratt but his car was bent up pretty bad. Hope he's alright today.

Bob, I thought you and I had already met officially, but I guess not. Sorry about that. I know so many folks in the racing community now that I can't remember who I've been introduced to and who I've never formally met. Then again, may that's just my age showing?

And yes, Rick, about Tyler Ivey. The guy was puting on quite a show and really impressed me last night. I dunno if he had anything for Mark, but he certainly had the rest of them whipped!

It was definitely a great show and an excellent way to start the regular weekly season. It was also very nice to see Mike and Angie recognized for their efforts. I wish that every track was as nice and well-run as Ocala. I got there by 6:30 to snag my regular seat just behind the flag stand. All three divisions put on good shows, especially the hobby stocks. The 36 put on a great exhibition, coming back from a penalty and challenging the 35. I'm looking forward to seeing the late model race on the web so I can see what I missed.
