I was at Volusia one night photographing. There was another photographer there and I tried telling him there was enough room for both of us. He shrugged and said, in broken English, that he was from France and didn't understand me. (So naturally I spoke slower and louder.LOL) We exchanged cards and he went on his way. I just looked at his website and a link to the photos he took in the US. They are very good and interesting. You can see pictures from Volusia, Eastbay, NSS, Orlando, and Daytona, as well as a few tourist photos. Check it out at http://www.pixagogo.com/8585904195

It is interesting to see what someone from another country finds cool or interesting here. I can guarantee that there are fewer than 100 4x4 trucks on the roads of France like the ones he took pictures of here. I wonder if he knows he is a redneck?
Very cool pictures - very cool vacation.

Zut alors! That guy takes a mean photograph.
Just goes to show you that while you might assume it's all Formula One and sports cars in France, good racing is good racing no matter what your language or background is.www.FloridaSprintCarFans.com - because Florida sprint car racing needs all the help it can get...

actually the guy is not french, he's from belgium... My brother and sister's homeland. being that he spoke french makes him a walloon, where as my family speaks Dutch and are referred to as Flemish. Just a little trivial stuff to occupy the minds of those that read here....

Great photography, especially the action stuff. Obviously knows his way around a camera (envy sigh).
I always get a kick out of the spontaneous human interest type shots too. Like the guy with the Mountain Dew can sticking out of his head. Luv that T-shirt dude!
Interesting to see a couple of shots of Ol' Glory as the center piece as opposed to a back-drop or in the background, one a close-up too.
He's obviously one of those mis-guided Gordon fans though, too bad.....“Mama always told me not to look into the eyes of the sun, but mama, that's where the fun is”

I met these 3 guys (pronounced tough-tough-team) just prior ro the ARCA race. We had a great talk about racing, and I learned some things. Did you know that they race Late Models on 1/4 mile Asphalt oval tracks in Belgium? These guys have a LM, and they sound pretty similar to what we have here. The crowds are amazing compared to here, where 4000 people in the stands is an OFF night! 20-30 LM's are the average, but even there, the purse doesn't cover the expenses.
These 3 guys come over every year, and you can see by the photos that they don't do much sitting around. Racetracks, Airboats, Magic game, Theme Parks, the Beach... and I'm sure I've missed some of the things they witnessed over here.
I have their "Teuf-Teuf-Team" business card, and hope to stay in contact with them throughout the year. Seemed like great guys, and VERY schooled on US racing... and all I thought they would know is F-1, and a little bit of Nascar!
Small world isn't it Winger....? Out of the hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world visiting Speedweeks, we wind up meeting the same people, by total coincidence!
And we still haven't even met each other!!!

It really neat that you got to talk to them Frass. The language barrier and the noise of the racing didn't allow me that opportunity. I sent Xavier an email complimenting him on the photos and passing the compliments from this board on to him. He was very pleased and says he has about 5500 pictures to go through. He's going to let me know when he posts them. You can see more of his albums at www.teufteufteam.be and there you will see some pictures (in the slideshow) of Late Models that look very much like American cars. Actually, I thought they were and I'm not sure they're not. You can get an idea of many other types of cars also.
Someday we'll meet Jerry. I'll be at Ocala Friday and hoping to make it to the Little 500 on Saturday but that's still up in the air.My photo site: http://www.rewingphotos.com
