  • Feb 28 "Larry Robinson Late Model 100 Memorial" New Rules 2009

Larry Robinson was a personal Friend. We felt a great void in the America Short Track Tire program. I talked with his wife Terry Robinson on Friday about having a race to Honor him. She was very touched. We will combine all the divisions of Late Models for the 2009 season. The starting rules will be as follows:

CCMP Late Models that weight was 2900 lbs will go to 2750lbs 58 left side

ASA Late Models will go to 2700 lbs 58 left side

Big spring 604 crate engines will be at 2650 lbs 58 left side

Super Late Models will add 100 lbs to the current weight (if you are at 2700 go to 2800 lbs, if your at 2750 got 2850 lbs)be at 2800 or 2850 lbs and 58 left side

This is a start point adjustment may be made.

Entry the same and will pay $3000.00 "Super Late pay out for over 21 cars.
Please call 941-575-7223 for your slabs.
Thanks for the support of CCMP.

        Hello,

With the new rules, does that mean the schedule is going to change? Will this new setup be run once a month or twice a month?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Bobby, none of my business here but I would like to ask a question. Why can't someone run that kind a rule package all the time and make it work? We did in Ohio few years back and had 27 car avg. every night.

            Thanks "Helper" for your question.

We are having to do this because of the car count that we have been getting. But, with that said I have been in talks with several of the Northern Late Model Touring Series and they are talking about picking up a couple of the Super dates. For now we will be racing the last weekend of the month for all of te Late Models combined. I will keep everyone posted on the future dates of Super only shows.
Thanks for your support and hope to see at Larry's Memorial Race on 2-28-09.

              Thanks for question "Mizechris".

We have been talking about the leveling of the playing field at CCMP for a while. The track is not a HP track (more of a handling track) and our rules would differ from say Desoto, New Smyrna, OSW, or even Auburndale,Citrus.
I believe that it can be done at CCMP with these weights and left sides as a starting point. Hope to see you at the race.
              Thanks for the question.

We'll be there to help test out the waters lol. Let's hope others do as well so we can get a good car count, get the purse up, draw the crowds to the track, put on a good show, and have some fun. The Lead is ordered and on the way...see ya there!

The $10.00 race is this weekend.

We are trying the $10.00 Night to see if it brings more people. The purse is to high on the Late Model Night to try.
                    Hope to see you there.

Then you need to lower the purse sorry but 20 bucks is way to much for any late model race!
I MAY BE SLOW ... BUT I'M AHEAD OF YOU
