Harvey Jones passes

For those of you with a sense of old Florida racing history, you'll be saddened to learn of the passing yesterday of Harvey Jones of Tallahassee. Harvey and his familiar blue No. 6 cars were a favorite at many north Florida and South Georgia speedway from the 50s well into the 70s. He was 84 and lived in the same house in Tallahassee for more than 50 years. He had been having heart trouble for the past few years and yesterday he took his final checkered flag.

Sad Day

I remember watching him run at Lake City in the 70's. That man sure could drive !!!! Florida/Georgia short track racing has lost a great one.

Harvey was involved (not his fault) in the accident that took me out of racing. What a great competitor. When you saw the blue #6 in the pits, it was a given he'd be at or near the top. RIP Harvey. billy

Harvey was fast every time I saw him race.
