Thunder 2 Performance Fluids and Daytona Lagoon have signed on to be the Title Sponsors for the Feb. 13, 24th Annual running of the Richie Evans Memorial 100, Tour-Type Modified race at New Smyrna Speedway.
Business partners Ed Kennedy (Daytona Lagoon) and Ron Karto (Thunder 2 Performance Fluids) were friends of the Nine-Time National Modified Champion, with Evans and Kennedy having some spirited battles during their racing careers. “We are very happy to have the chance to remember our friend,” Kennedy said. “Richie was a tough competitor and I enjoyed racing with him. Ron and I are proud to sponsor this race.”
“It is an honor and a privilege to sponsor the event in memory of the greatest modified driver of all time,” Karto said. “Richie was a special friend and I will remember all of the great times that we had.”
