any body ever see 40 figure eight cars

is there any body that ain't in nursering home or dead remember ever going to golden gate speedway and seeing 40 full frame figure eight cars start a feature now i am talking about 1954 - and 1955 fords chevys with full cow catcher on front welded to cage and also on rear i talking about some go getter heavy port -polished hot rods ain't talking about 2400 lb car i'm talking about heavy metal ground pounding no brakes petal to metal get to front drivers that don't care what the purse is and you better not stop or slow down in front of some one or you going tru x were you want to or not .

when they hit in x they have to be cut apart or pulled apart .i'm not taking any thing away from figure eight racers of day sure them guys are bad but i bet you there saftey equipment is lot better today than what we had back then if our seat belts what little they was of them did not fit stick you a pillow around it get you bottle of old crow rinse your mouth out save little in your mouth in case you get hit back in them days it was more fun than going bass fishing in a canoe with 3 playboy bunnies and gallon of jack daniels

Yeah Ronny, Iv'e seen better than 40 figure eight cars. At Sunshine 1989 and 1990. I taped the winternational figure eight Championships. I think there wer 80 or 85 cars in 1989. They didn't let ant grass grow under them.
I think both years a guy from New York won. I remember the figure eights at Saramana in the 50's. I was young so I didn't pay any attention to car count but the track was full of cars as I remember. Bob....

I remember in the '80s at St. Pete and Tampa they'd get about 40 cars in figure 8 for a regular weekly show. Camaros, Novas, Mustangs, I even remember a Challenger or a 'Cuda. 40 cars, 15 laps, 30 times through the crossover....w00t!

How are you doing with the RC racing? I saw where you missed the set up a few days ago but haven't seen any thing else. I was going to try and make it over there one day but it is impossible with prior commitments. I am going to have to dig my Rc stuff out and see if any thing still runs. I have a lot of stuff, all in my barn and untouched for at least 5 or 6 years. Probably all junk now full of bugs and spiders. Bob...
