I don't recognize any of the owners names as having a racing background . I wish them the best , but they will need someone very well versed in stock car racing to keep that organisation going . Without the Hooters money propping it up , its gonna be a long hard climb .

While I'm not too optimistic, I really hope that this series survives. I went to many Hooters Procup races at USA Speedway and a few at South Georgia. It was a really nice series, although it was hard to follow very well when Speed cut their coverage from 2 hour shows to 1 hour highlights at very strange broadcast times.

When USAR/Hooters switched from late models to the current ProCup cars, I think their hope was the drivers would buy used Cup/Busch cars. This did'nt really happen. The majority of the current cars are purpose built for the series, especially when they converted to the composite bodies. I'd like to see them let the steel body cars back in, particularly if the bodies were former Nascar pieces. There are alot of used Cup and Busch type cars out there for 30 cents on the dollar from what they cost to build new. As long as they have strong car counts, sponsors should come. Although, I doubt the 2009 purses will be as large as the previous years.

does anyone know somebody at ESPN?

the way Speed / Fox are f'ing the whole thing up and starving everything except NASCAR programming of funding i would think there'd be an opportunity for an ESPN Racing ( on the Ocho? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50jVa25gmWs ) channel or programming system.
